If you love planes and all things space - this is the place to visit in San Diego

A nice museum trip. Its a little on the worn side and needs a little love and TLC, but there was plenty to see and enjoy.

This beautiful and interesting museum is best visited with children as an ideal family outing. There is even a special play area for kids and plenty of action everywhere. For us the museum was possibly slightly less appealing but still of interest. American Women of Flight exhibit was well presented.

Not too many places to eat in Balboa Park and this is a hidden find. Very casual cafe- great for lunch and for meeting while eating. I highly recommend this cafe.

In Balboa Park and just the right size. Amazing aircraft and excellent informative displays. They even have a Japanese Zero and an F-18 inside.

Lots to see from early aviation up to modern military technology, with a lot of emphasis on both world wars. Might be boring for someone who isn't too interested in flight. I appreciated that women's contributions to aviation were recognized. The optional interactive area "You Be the Astronaut" was kind of fun if you like video simulation games. It was... More

Information overload. You cannot do service to this museum in a single day. Moving through the displays, the visual and audio segments capture your imagination and fill your brain with history of our adventures into the wild blue yonder. I found myself leaving after 4 hours having gotten thru only half of the exhibit while still not taking part in... More

The museum is very conveniently located in Balboa Park close to the town center and contains a large collection of well displayed aircraft from the very earliest days of heavier-than-air flying. The staff are very friendly and keen to help interpret the displays to visitors. Recommended.
