A bit larger that we expected, it is a collection of small museums in one site, where you can revisit the history of the original city of San Diego and southern California. From the Wells Fargo house to the Stable, it is very informative. A few tourist shops and a couple bars and cantinas come handy as well.

Clearly, this is a tourist attraction. There are souvenirs and trinkets everywhere. However, the area is also a fascinating historical park. We visited at the end of December, starting on Christmas Day. Our hotel was about a mile from Old Town, so we visited on several days. It was pristinely clean. It almost reminded me of Disneyland, or a similar... More

I love Old Town! I make a point to visit every time I'm in San Diego. It's charming and fun to walk around shops and taste some delicious food. Plus you can get there by riding the trolley.

The early days of San Diego come to life at Old Town. Be sure to visit the Park in Old Town. It's where all the early history is relived & explored. The Welcome Center is worth a look, not for brochures, but to see the miniature layout of early San Diego. There are so many restaurants, shops, and kiosks to... More

Historic area is colorful and fun. Historic buildings and museums. Many dining options. Numerous festivals and entertainment. No charge to visit or tour. Free street parking and some parking lots.

We went after it had rained and almost all places were closed. The outside businesses I understood why they were closed but indoor places closed....not good!

We visited Old Town 3 times in 6 days. There was always more to see and do. We had great conversations with the blacksmith, tobacco shop guys, and many others. We fell in love with Fiesta de Reyes mexican restaurant!

Plan to spend several days to see it all. Lots of shops and restaurants. It can be hard to find a place to park. This whole area is pet friendly. It can be very busy over any holidays or during times when school is on holiday. This is one of our favorite places to go when we visit San Diego.
