More
Founded in 1916, the Zoo has been an icon in San Diego for nearly 100 years—and an absolute must-see in Southern California. Spend the day monkeying around in our tropical oasis as you visit beautiful habitats that are home to gorillas, eagles, tigers, sun bears, Asian leopards, rare reptiles, a palette of colorful birds, and more. Visit the Australian Outback to delight in our colony of 24 koalas, and travel along Panda Trek to experience giant pandas and other animals that share their bamboo forest habitat. Go back in time through Elephant Odyssey to discover what animals used to roam Southern California and see what the elephants are up to. Enjoy a guided tour on a double-decker bus or the scenic view from the Skyfari aerial tram, and dine in the peaceful surroundings of Albert's Restaurant. Discover the wonders of wildlife with animal encounters, interactive experiences, and keeper chats. A leader in animal care and conservation, the San Diego Zoo is at the heart of the San Diego experience.

We had a great time and did so much walking that the tram provided a much needed rest for feet with such a great view.

We had a full day pass for two. The first thing you might want to do when you get there is to take the bus ride around the park just so you know what is there. This place is huge with lots to see and...More

This is wonderful zoo. It has lots of the animals you expect and some unusual ones as well. What we loved about it was the space and the habitat the animals are given to live in. Much better than many of the zoos I have...More

It's a really great zoo just really really expensive for a zoo. It costs almost twice as much as the next most expensive zoo in the USA (ticket prices are currently $50/person). It's a fabulous zoo, but the steep asking price makes it very hard...More

I could not visit San Diego and miss this place! I can see why it's rated one of the best zoos. Wonderful way to spend a beautiful California day! My visit was in April 2015 and I can't wait to go back!

I recently visited on a field trip. It was great to see so many animals on display. My daughter had a great time on the skyride with her friends.
