Founded in 1916, the Zoo has been an icon in San Diego for nearly 100 years—and an absolute must-see in Southern California. Spend the day monkeying around in our tropical oasis as you visit beautiful habitats that are home to gorillas, eagles, tigers, sun bears, Asian leopards, rare reptiles, a palette of colorful birds, and more. Visit the Australian Outback to delight in our colony of 24 koalas, and travel along Panda Trek to experience giant pandas and other animals that share their bamboo forest habitat. Go back in time through Elephant Odyssey to discover what animals used to roam Southern California and see what the elephants are up to. Enjoy a guided tour on a double-decker bus or the scenic view from the Skyfari aerial tram, and dine in the peaceful surroundings of Albert's Restaurant. Discover the wonders of wildlife with animal encounters, interactive experiences, and keeper chats. A leader in animal care and conservation, the San Diego Zoo is at the heart of the San Diego experience.

Allow lots of time for this visit. The zoo is vast. Jump on the bus tour, which is included in your entrance fee. You'll get a great idea of the layout, and can then plan where you want to revisit. There is also a wonderful aerial ride that soars across the width of the zoo. It's glorious. You get a... More

It seems very large but in fact it is not. With 1 day pass you can ride buses and air trems. Many different animals are here. My favorites were toucan, polar bear, and rhino. Moderate level of walking is expected.

Free parking plus lots of shade while you enjoy the zoo! Worth the trip! Go during off season times to avoid the crowds.

I'm more of a see the animals in their natural habitat kinda person. But in all honesty. This place is HUGE well organised and really nicely planned out and well mapped out. If you're anything like me weekend attractions are only done well with a pint and they have some dope craft beers you can sip on while checking out... More

We went to the Zoo expecting to actually go into the zoo...but, for $60 per person was so not worth the expense for us. The thought of spending this money was too painful for us to even consider. I really didn't want to be disappointed since anything short of seeing the animals to be SUPER happy. Short from being in... More

All the buzz about the San Diego Zoo is true. It is a beautiful property and the management really cares about their animals. Take the double decker bus for an overview of the facility - but the best way is to put on a pair of walking shoes, bring a bottle of water and walk around for an up-close view... More
