Founded in 1916, the Zoo has been an icon in San Diego for nearly 100 years—and an absolute must-see in Southern California. Spend the day monkeying around in our tropical oasis as you visit beautiful habitats that are home to gorillas, eagles, tigers, sun bears, Asian leopards, rare reptiles, a palette of colorful birds, and more. Visit the Australian Outback to delight in our colony of 24 koalas, and travel along Panda Trek to experience giant pandas and other animals that share their bamboo forest habitat. Go back in time through Elephant Odyssey to discover what animals used to roam Southern California and see what the elephants are up to. Enjoy a guided tour on a double-decker bus or the scenic view from the Skyfari aerial tram, and dine in the peaceful surroundings of Albert's Restaurant. Discover the wonders of wildlife with animal encounters, interactive experiences, and keeper chats. A leader in animal care and conservation, the San Diego Zoo is at the heart of the San Diego experience.

This was the best zoo we've ever been to! We loved all the exhibits. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We loved the llamas, tortoises and of course the pandas the best. Would definately return!

Best zoo I've ever visited, hands down. Great collection of animals with tours, presentations, and the opportunity to get pretty up close. Huge but walkable.

Everyone told us to visit the Zoo, so we did and happy that we did. Parts of the zoo under construction so a bit of walking around in circles to get to different locations. Recommend first take the bus tour and then go walking around....More

Great day at the zoo! Pay a little extra for the sky ride and the tour bus. Go on the bus first to get an overview of the expanse of the zoo & to know what to expect. It's extremely hilly, so you have to...More

My wife had never been to the SD zoo and it had been over 25 years since I was there. The adult day entrance fee is $52. Someone gave us a coupon for $5 off, so that was good. The entrance includes the bus tour,...More

With three toddlers (ages 2-4) finding something that keeps them interested is always a challenge. The Zoo fit the bill. Not only is it well laid out and filled with things to keep little hand and minds busy, but it also provides great educational opportunity....More

Best zoo! The entire zoo is beautiful, animals in there natural habitat. Skifari and bus tours were perfect for an overview and little rest. Scope out your tour using the zoo map based on animals you want to see. Pandas first in morning so you...More

Took a quick trip SoCal trip with my teens and had a blast at the zoo. We all enjoyed looking for our favorite animals, getting in some exercise as we walked along the paths and the skyride too. Even though we did not think it...More
