We stopped here on our way through Mississippi. There are paved walkways around the entire grounds. There are handicap ramps available in the places there are stairs. We spent about an hour walking the grounds and the grounds were beautiful. We did not pay for the tour of the museum, house and church but I still felt there was enough... More

Since we were in Tupelo, we had to visit the birthplace of Elvis just to get a picture for one of my sister in laws. It was a Sunday and early, so the museum was closed. We did wander around the grounds which are beautiful.

We did not buy tickets to enter the museum and music center but just walked around the grounds of Elvis' birthplace. The restored wood frame house is encircled with a history of Elvis' life depicted year by year on the brick walkway. A nicely landscaped garden leads up a small hill to Elvis' boyhood church, which is where he first... More

We didn't pay for the museum, but parked and walked the grounds for free. We viewed the small house which Elvis's father and grandfather built themselves and where Elvis was born in 1935 and raised. We took photos on the porch. We then walked the grounds which were really well thought out, presented and maintained. There are statues of Elvis... More

As Elvis Presley fans, we visited Tupelo to visit Elvis's home town. The home where Elvis was born is a small, two-room house, built by his father in a neighborhood that "was on the wrong side of the tracks" at that time. It was in a group of small similar sized shacks that had no plumbing, no running water, and... More

Whilst the house itself is tiny (you know that before you arrive) I really enjoyed the visit to the church. We came on a Sunday and the way they portray the services in the little chapel makes you feel you are part of it all.
