A cool history lesson

You can't beat 360 degree views of Boston on a warm sun day! The audio tour was wonderfully informative.

The views were fantastic (50th floor of the Prudential Center) and there are audio tour wands available with ticket purchase. It was not at all crowded and the audio tour was great.

Part of why I bought the CityPass was to see this attraction but we got there around 2 and it was closed for the rest of the day. Not cool.

It was pouring rain outside and we wound up at the Skywalk. It was amazing hanging in the clouds - the rain turned to snow for a while. We also had lunch at Top of the Hub on the same cold, dreary day. This was the perfect thing to do in bad weather. Take a map of Boston - it... More

Although I grew up in Boston, today was the first time I had the opportunity to walk around the Skywalk Observatory. I would highly recommend this activity to both natives and tourists alike. The views are breathtaking with informative games, informational audio narrations, and a great gift shop! A must see for all.

I think some of the best views I've seen in the USA are from this skywalk. The way Boston is laid out, and the sheer size of this enormous tower, you get great views and a sense of the entire city. There's also lots to do there, information stands etc making it a really good way to spend an hour... More

When we visited there was a private party which had reserved part of the gallery but this was still a worthwhile visit. Audio guides are available in many languages ( can't remember the whole range to be honest but it was fairly extensive). We visited this on our first morning in Boston and it gave us a good "Overview" (pardon... More

My friend and I lucked up on our timing when we visited Skywalk. We arrived about 30 minutes prior to sunset and got to see Boston in two completely different ways. Expecting to stay for around an hour, 2.5 hours later we were still walking around reading the history on the walls and sitting through informative (and surprisingly entertaining) videos... More

This is amazing, go at sunset to take photo's of Boston, you can see for 100 miles and it is amazing as the sun goes down and the lights of Boston come on.

Really a wonderful experience and great way to see Boston at sunset and during the night. Albeit a bit pricey at $18 per adult, the view is well worth it! Came here on a beautiful evening and shared the view with my girlfriend. Absolutely gorgeous! Lots of interesting history about Boston on the inner walls, and a great place to... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
