We have been looking forward to hearing this famous orchestra live in its home venue and were not disappointed. The famed sound heard so often at home on CD had the extra hair-raising dimension live and the old slightly creaky seats added much to the atmosphere. Truly memorable.

I attended a concert in April. I would like to say that the performance was great! I loved the first part of the concert with Shostakovich's Festive Overture and Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D major. Anne Sophie-Mutter was amazing playing this concerto!. The second was a bit different. I did not like it that much. Takemitsu's Nostalghia is pretty hard... More

I attend a performance a couple times a year and love every one. Beforehand I dine at the hall, pre-ordering my meal when buying my admission. Having done this 5 times over the past 2 years, I can say I was never disappointed. You will have a reserved table and will be served promptly. Dining starts at 7pm and no... More

Excellent program and musicians. We love concerts and of course the BSO is one of THE BEST IN THE WORLD. I highly recommend to attend one of their concerts while visiting Boston. Excellent for adults and teenagers.

A very good place to spend time during a cold evening. Very good acoustics. I think a must see in a visit to Boston. It is one of the oldest and some rank it as one of the 'Big Five'. Some critics do not agree with the Big Five classification. But it is among the top 20 in the world.

Had tickets to the Valentines Day Special. Champagne, chocolates and a Symphony. How could it get any better. The piano concerto of Beethoven and the Berlioz "Symphonie Fantastique" was so appripoe for the evening.

My husband and I attend many concerts both in Boston and at Tanglewood - the summer residence of the BSO. The quality of music is one of the best in the world

The Christmas show was incredible! The best symphony concert I have ever been too and I usually fall asleep. They ended with a sing-a-long with some popular songs that everyone knows. A must see for people who love Christmas Music!

My friends wanted to visit so they booked for all of us. The hall is beautiful. The first hour was heaven, with an older beloved conductor. It was soothing and beautiful. I was really enjoying my visit. The second half was horrible, a gruesome opera about Bluebeard. I hated it, my friends were laughing about it later. It was awful.... More

Staying in Fenway / Kenmore

Neighbourhood Profile
Fenway / Kenmore
The Curse of the Bambino may have ended years ago, but loyal Red Sox fans will continue to infiltrate this home to historic Fenway Park, where you can find victory banners, people yelling in stereotypical Boston accents, and lots of sports bars. Located within Kenmore Square, the old gas station Citgo sign is another Boston skyline classic seen throughout the city. In addition to a hectic and diehard sports mentality, this neighborhood is also home to some of Boston’s many universities. Move from Boston University territory to that of Northeastern, and spend time at the famous Museum of Fine Arts. For more culture, check out the smaller but equally beautiful Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Continue off the beaten path and check out the green space in the Back Bay Fens, a pretty community garden. This diverse neighborhood has a mix of universities, sports, culture, and more residential green space.
