This a delightful way to spend the day. The scenery is lovely. You can go sailing or rowing in season from April through October. If you like to fish get a license and bring your fishing pole. The little ones will be able to run around safely on the grass. Dogs are welcome as long as they are on a... More

Nice place to relax or walk around the pond. Parking is an issue. People also ride bikes on the pathway. They have sailing lessons for kids in season.

On Sunday the weather was beautiful and our 3 generation family walked part of the way around the pond. This is a wonderful central gathering place for families and couples in good weather.

This was my second visit to Jamaica Pond and it certainly didn't disappoint! It's not the easiest place to get to, but upon arrival we set about trying to find somewhere to park. On one small stretch of the pond perimeter there is on-road parking for 2 hours (no meters) - unfortunately there are probably only about 20 spaces, and... More

Located in the pleasant Jamaica Pond neighborhood, Jamaica Pond offers a serene environment for relaxing on a bench, walking or jogging the 1.5 mile trail around the pond. Wonderful nature spot, close to good eateries and cafes.

Early morning or late afternoon the light is so kind... People from every color are either walking or running or king an hour on the bench for dreaming, or meditating. I love these hours when I either walk fast with my music or walk leisurely I have taken so many photos of different hours , dogs in the water, geese... More

Visited Boston and stayed in Jamaica Plain. Walked around the pond in Jamaica Plain at sunset. Just beautiful. Saw many joggers and walkers. A family of ducks too! No biking or swimming allowed. Very nice relaxing place to visit!

We visit Boston every summer and are so fortunate to stay in Jamaica Plain. Jamaica Pond is one of my favorite places in Boston. Just a beautiful pond with walking/jogging paths. You can see folks taking sailing lessons, locals walking their dogs, joggers, walkers. Just a lovely way to spend a sunny day.

A lovely walk around the lake and opportunities to boat (rowing, sailing and kayaking). Just nice to spend time in the outdoors so close to the city centre

Jamaica Pond lies along the Emerald Necklace, which winds its way through southern parts of Boston. It is surrounded by several walking paths and is easily accessible by walking from all surrounding areas. It is accessible via public transit on the Orange Line, the Green Line at Heath Street, and the 60 and 39 bus lines. It's an amazing area,... More

Staying in Jamaica Plain

Neighbourhood Profile
Jamaica Plain
This Boston neighborhood feels like a distinct community unique and separate from the bustle of other areas. Beautiful Victorian homes, restaurants with an emphasis on being eco-friendly and providing local and organic food, and a large Hispanic community. Visit Centre and South streets for restaurants, cafes, and little shops. The Arnold Arboretum is a beautiful, large green space well worth a visit if you venture to JP.
