Great tour by the NP and US Coast Guard. Fast ferry, informative tour. $35 for adults. Beautiful cruise for a day out. I will return with some friends next time!

We were planning this one for years! Unfortunately, it's not easy to get to see this Lighthouse! There's limited dates, limited days of the week, limited hours, and limited cruises. BUT. Once you get through all the obstacles, this is just a great place! Very photogenic, full of historical layers, great views, helpfull staff( dressed up in that time character), and there's a boat ride! So worth seeing!

A friend with a lobster boat arranged to drop us at Little Brewster Island to spend time touring the lighthouse (boats are not allowed to tied up and stay at the dock.) Keeper Sally Snowman told us about the lighthouse and some of it's history, she is very knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions. After that, another Coast Guard person took us to the top of the lighthouse, and shared the history behind some of the artifacts in the base of the light. Original Fressnel lens is in the lantern room, so able to see one of those beautiful lens up close. We have a fantastic view of some of Boston Harbor Island's and could see the skyscrappers of Boston! He then walked us around the rest of the island. Fantastic experience. Believe UMass runs a tourist boat out here in the summer, would highly recommend a visit to this awesome island.

$41 for Adult tickets. It is kind of expensive. Visit only if you like lighthouses.
We went on the tour from Boston Harbor. Tour takes about 3.5 hrs in total. There is a one hour ferry ride from Boston Harbor to Little Brewster Island. 1.5 hrs to go around the island(which is very very small) and people can climb up to the top of the lighthouse in groups of 8. One hour to get back. Bring sunscreen, water and snacks. No restrooms on the island, the ferry has only one bathroom. Ferry leaves after the passengers get off. So be prepared, if you need to use the bathroom.

Two tours daily on Friday, Saturday and Sunday between June 16th and October 1st.
Tours from Hull will be available July 23rd and August 13th
Tours depart from the Boston Harbor Islands Welcome Center on the Rose Kennedy Greenway (across from the Marriott Long Wharf Hotel and next to the Greenway Carousel). On one side is Marriott and on other side is Quincy Market bus stop.

Plenty of parking around Boston Harbor. You can google for cheaper lots.

There's a quality to the Harbor Islands that transports you to another world where cares drop away, this trip does that and more. I can't say enough good things about this trip/tour. Perfection!

We loved the brunch tour of Boston Harbour and the lighthouse tour. The food was great and the narrator was so informative.

My wife and I visited and just loved the place. Beautiful views on a clear day with attentive staff supporting you. An hours ferry ride with stunning views of Boston as you leave and return.

This was my second trip to the Little Brewster Island Lighthouse. The boat ride is pleasant, although the narration is practically inaudible. The first trip, I climbed the lighthouse. It is very interesting and offers great views, but be warned that it means 76 steps and two ladders in VERY hot, confined spaces. In fact, of the 40 climbers that are allowed on the trip, only 8 at a time can climb up and down, so there is a lot of waiting around. It is a beautiful spot to visit, but there is very little shade (find a spot on the ground in the shadow of the lighthouse) and the only places to sit down are in the blazing sun. This trip I went as a non-climber with my 84 year old mother, and the lack of shady benches is a problem since we were on the island for almost two hours. Also note there are no bathrooms. So I rated my first trip as a 5 and the second as a 3 - hence the 4-star rating.

This is a great trip with a guide giving historic and current information about the harbor and islands all the way out to the island (about 40 min.) We brought sandwiches and enjoyed the beautiful views of the harbor and islands while eating at a picnic table. I climbed the 76 steps and 2 ladders to the top of the lighthouse for more fantastic views. (I'm 69 and had no problem.) The knowledgeable and enthusiastic park rangers gave us more information about the lighthouse and really enriched the experience for us. This trip would not be appropriate for young children.

What better thing to do on a hot summer day! The boat ride to the island was admittedly better than the actual visit. We got interesting commentary along the way about the different islands. The photo ops of the Boston skyline and then the lighthouse made this trip for me. The preboarding was a little chaotic and I must have heard the rules for climbing to the top of the lighthouse at least 3 times by different people.
