We buy the cheapest 2nd balcony seats - we try to get close to the stage, or, we sit way out in the back of 2nd balcony center. Very few bad seats, acoustics grand, and the Pops at Christmas are a fabulous experience. Sadly, a lot of Bostonians have never been here...

We heard Handel's Messiah in a superb performance and it was an amazing experience. Some voices of the chorus could be made out individually. A lady from NYC living in Boston prefers the sound in Carnegie Hall but this sound was ethereal. They claim one of the top three sounds in the world and the best in the US. I... More

Symphony Hall is a unique and beautiful venue from it's architecture to the acoustics when watching a concert. My parents and I saw the Tenors and what a show at an amazing venue. Highly recommend visiting symphony hall for a concert or the pops if you ever get a chance.

We have all heard the music of the Boston Symphony. Coming to Symphony Hall Boston and hearing it here completes the experience. This gorgeous building with all it's history and grandeur makes a concert something extra special. But, it is not all symphonies. We went to a collegiate acapella competition that was full of appreciative fans having a great time.... More

When the Symphony is in Tanglewood for the summer, there are no tours of the hall. That is extremely unfortunate. We walked over a mile to the building, just to find that out. So don't do what we did!

Visited Symphony Hall for a POPS concert and was again reminded of the beauty and fantastic sound of this grand old Hall. Few even with modern acoustics technology can equal its lovely mellow and sensual delight. If you like music any kind of music just go and be transported by the purity of sound.

The standard of music was excellent and the decor amazing. The only down side was it was difficult to see all the performers from the stalls

The lovely sculptures and ceiling of this acoustically delightful building are lost on those seated on the floor, so use the balconies for the best location.

Saw Yo Yo Ma and his Silk Road Tour. Performance was fun, venue was perfect as always. Beautiful place to visit. Dress code, however, was all over the map - very surprised at how casual some people are at the symphony these days. Ushers were pleasant, bar service was good, and can't beat the location right as you get off... More

We decided to try a different venue for New Year's Eve in Boston. At $100 pp that included a table for 4 on the main floor, a bottle of sparkling wine (that mysteriously appeared at 10 PM) and dancing to a Big Band sound. Finding our table was quite difficult since hosts were not evident making it near impossible to... More

Staying in Fenway / Kenmore

Neighbourhood Profile
Fenway / Kenmore
The Curse of the Bambino may have ended years ago, but loyal Red Sox fans will continue to infiltrate this home to historic Fenway Park, where you can find victory banners, people yelling in stereotypical Boston accents, and lots of sports bars. Located within Kenmore Square, the old gas station Citgo sign is another Boston skyline classic seen throughout the city. In addition to a hectic and diehard sports mentality, this neighborhood is also home to some of Boston’s many universities. Move from Boston University territory to that of Northeastern, and spend time at the famous Museum of Fine Arts. For more culture, check out the smaller but equally beautiful Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Continue off the beaten path and check out the green space in the Back Bay Fens, a pretty community garden. This diverse neighborhood has a mix of universities, sports, culture, and more residential green space.
