Top ways to experience Frog Pond and nearby attractions

The area
Neighbourhood: Beacon Hill
Visit this historic and ritzy Boston neighborhood to soak up its classic New England charm as you stroll down cobblestoned, gas-lamp lined streets. Bring your walking shoes, camera, and select a nice day to wander through the hilly neighborhood and check out its exclusive addresses. Louisburg Square, Mt. Vernon street, Chestnut street and the extremely narrow and widely photographed Acorn street make a nice walking path. Make sure to meander down Charles street to poke into boutiques and antique shops, cafes, and restaurants on this quaint shopping street. Don’t forget to catch a glimpse up close of the State House with its beautiful and iconic dome.

A true hot spot for family skating. Everyone had the same great idea! Pack your patience and focus on time spent in the experience. The lines, the packed rink, and novel skaters are all part of the experience.

Was in town when the winter skating spectacular at night showed off competitive figure skaters and more right in the middle of the historic Boston Commons. Returned the next day to see what the pond looked like with regular skaters enjoying the area. Admission price is based on skater's height. For those 58" and over, the price is $10. Under 58" is free.

I visited on a rainy day, so it was closed. I could see where it would be fun for splashing or skating, but the Frogs were so cute.

we were here in the summer time so it was a little wading pool/splash area and my kids loved it! It was a great little stop on a hot day, and there were plenty of spots for adults to sit and watch in the shade while enjoying the scenery.

We visited in October and there was no water in the pond with the frog statues (located outside the Tadpole Playground) staring at nothing.

One of our favorite family places! We love to go here and little the kids paddle and then finish off with a picnic. Then may be a treat from a shop downtown before heading home.

Went skating on frog pond atBoston common during beautiful sunny winter. day. Small rink that was full of all kinda of skaters. Great atmosphere. Had a great time skating around for an hour or so. Afterwards had got chocolates at their snack bar.
Reasonable ticket prices. Would highly recommend this attraction if visiting the Common.

This is a must visit. The Common is wonderful anyway. Bring some bird food with you and have a great time with the birds too!

All our 9 yo could think about this trip was ice skating at Frog Pond. It opened for the season the weekend before we got there. It was a spectacular sunny, 50 degree day and couldn’t have been more picturesque. Everyone had a blast and we didn’t have any falls, bonus. The kids had a snowball fight in the Zamboni ice shavings, gross but fun. Skates were a little old and uncomfortable but didn’t stop us.
