What a lovely neighborhood! Lovely old buildings including Old North Church and the Paul Revere house. Both those attractions are important to patriotic Americans. The Church is beautiful and the house is historic. We had lunch at Nico and it was wonderful. We got the best cannolis we've ever had. If you're in Boston don't miss this lovely neighborhood.

Rode the T to the North End so that I could taste cannoli- and did not have any fireworks go off! They were very good, and I did get a chance to see the North End, which I had not seen before.

A multitude of restaurants and bars in the area. Specifically Italian restaurants are awesome in this district.

After dinner at the Neptune, I walked up Salem to the Old North Church, then to the other side of the hill. There is still an old time neighborhood feel, despite the construction just outside the neighborhood and some very nice views.

Walk around and you will see points of interest on every corner and in between. Never boring. When you tire from walking stop and have a drink / food in the many historical water/eating hole.

We stayed on Hull Street Ct. and it was the perfect spot! We walked to Theo's every morning for breakfast and the locals were all friendly. We were there for a week and we felt at home.

Go to Modern Pastry if there is a line or it's packed inside there is a bar and tables in the basement. Virtually empty, great service! Loved it

Hanover Street is lined with Italian restaurants and the world famous Mikes Pastry, which sells to -die-for cannoli's. Another famous cannoli bakery, Modern Bakery, is across the street. This area is also rich in history, including the home of Paul Revere. The North End is near the Boston waterfront and near Quincy Market.

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
