The diner is a throwback to another time great food and of course milk shakes. The art in the building is from a myriad of local artists set in an individual booths and along walls. The art encompasses sculpture, paining, metal work, pottery, etc. The art is beautiful and pleasure to browse through while in downtown Asheville.

It is a well-restored original Woolworth's lunch counter with a variety of foods. We just had a large mint-chocolate chip shake, which was eaily enough for both of us and it was delicious. Then we walked around and took in the wonderful array of art styles. Many very interesting artists in many different styles and media. We ended up bying a large painting that just jumped off the wall at us. Very unlike us. A really good stop to get some food, an ice cream treat, or just to take in some fantastcic art.

This was a very cool stop after our hike up to Craggys pinnacle. A welcome break inside and a very nice place to sit and enjoy a milkshake. We loved that so many local artists were housed in one location and absolutely loved how the Woolworth’s building was repurposed. Very cool!

I saw the Woolworth Walk as my wife and I were strolling around Asheville and decided to see if we could grab a quick lunch. I ordered a hot dog and my wife ordered a BLT. We were surprised at the size of both as they were huge. Both were very good. The counter reminded me of the old Woolworth my family would visit when I was a kid for the ice cream floats and other treats. After our meal, we walked around the the different booths and the unique displays of works by local artisans. A great place to have a quick lunch and to see some of the amazing arts and crafts.

I love that Asheville turned their Woolworth into an art gallery featuring local and other artists. We had a blast walking around and found some treasures we took home. The Ice cream/soda fountain area is very cool. Glad they kept it and maintain it.

We remembered this place from a previous visit and made it a point to return here. Unlike last time, we did not order food at the soda fountain, but just like last time, we enjoyed browsing the local artists' work and we did end up buying something. Unless it's a big piece that requires assistance, just take your item to the counter at the front and they'll ring it up. They'll even hold items while you continue shopping. Just a general observation, but this place seemed to feature a little more whimsical art than some of the other places.

This is a great place to see and purchase a lot of art produced by various artists. We liked that we could view the art without the artist standing there making it awkward. We ended up buying several items at the central checkout. Others were enjoying some treats in the restaurant area.

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Asheville! I loved that the lunch counter was still in tact and functional. We had the classic Woolworth BLT. That was worth the trip alone. We also got to explore some local Asheville art and came away with several beautiful pieces.

We enjoyed seeing this nostalgic spot and having a quick counter lunch of milkshakes and a grilled cheese sandwich. Prices were fair to slightly high, food was good, and overall vibe was excellent. And the art stalls were a great use of the old store space instead of what many cities have done which is to knock it down.

We heard about this place from another merchant in downtown Asheville, and wow did we love it! It's an old, two level Woolworth building that has been converted to a gallery for local artists to display and sell their wares. They also have a nice cafe where you can have a snack, lunch and even a cocktail. Be sure and thoroughly explore the main floor and the floor downstairs. You will find an amazing and diverse selection of original art from NC artists of many kinds including paintings, sculptures, and other media. We purchased a couple of small items since we have so little room in our luggage going home, but saw numerous larger items we would have loved to collect.
