Just saw “Incident at Our Lady of Perpetual Help.” The best play I have ever seen at small theater - hands down. Funny story perfectly played by a amazing cast, standing ovation by all. GO SEE IT, and the venue and people running it are the best. I would have added stars if I could

This theater is fine for an evening out, just don't expect professional theater. If you like the Flat Rock Theater, you'll be fine here. But if you're used to real professional theater, you may feel let down. For $50 a ticket, I suppose it's okay, but, like all amateurs, they tend to overact. The people who run the place do a nice job.

I have gone to plays at NC Stage Company for many years, and they have been consistently interesting and thought-provoking. This month I went to the first and last performance of "What the Constitution Means to Me", and it was great. This is a very small theatre, so you almost feel like you are on the stage and participating in the acting. Highly Recommended! NC Stage is located in an alley across from Zambra restaurant and there is a garage for parking next door. Check it out!

If you enjoy an intimate and high quality theatrical experience you’ll love the NC Stage Company. By virtue of our own performing backgrounds, my wife and I are discriminating theater-goers. This venue and its talented performers will not disappoint. Our latest such experience, “Jeeves Saves The Day”, was a delightful romp with P.G. Wodehouse’s memorable characters, the bumbling aristocrat Bertie Wooster and his faithful servant Jeeves. With a healthy dose of likable characters, witty repartee and slamming doors this fast-paced comedy was a perfect example of why we love the theater.

I was in Asheville to visit the Biltmore, and needed something to do one evening. I found "Jeeves Saves the Day" at the North Carolina Stage Company. I love, Love, LOVE live theater. The performance I saw was top-rate. All the cast members were wonderful. There was a lot of physical comedy that was well-done. The theater is intimate - only five rows of seats on three sides. So every seat is a good one.

This intimate venue is the perfect place to immerse yourself in high quality, live theater. NC Stage has never disappointed me in the 17 years I've been to see their shows. Provocative, funny, sweet, challenging - the plays they pick (and the occasional musical) make me think, make me feel, and make me want to discuss the content. Check it out when you are in town, or better yet, make plans to come to town to see a performance.

Don’t let the fact that this award-winning gem has only 127 seats or that the casts are very small dissuade you. It’s the best venue in town to experience absolutely professional theater productions.

Having moved from a large city, we were accustomed to having our choice of excellent theater; in Asheville, most of what we’ve seen has been enjoyable, but it was one step above an amateur production. NC Stage was what we needed, and our only regret is that we didn’t discover it earlier.

Buying tickets is easy, and they’re fairly priced. The theater is almost adjacent to the large Walnut/Rankin garage. There’s a comfortable lobby in which to relax or have a drink or snack during an intermission.

But the quality of the productions is what makes this place stand out from all the rest.

We stumbled upon this place for their "It's a wonderful life" adaptation. It was VERY well done! We enjoyed light refreshments before the show and the staff was very warm and welcoming. All seats are great as the theater is very intimate! I will definitely be back!

I have only been here once. On our recent trip we saw the Christmas play- "12 dates"...really enjoyed the production. Very nice local theatre. Comfortable seating and a nice intimate venue. Looking at past productions in the lobby, it appears that this theatre company does some very different shows- as opposed to local productions of well known plays/musicals. We really had a nice evening!!

Years of living in Asheville—having moved here from a big city where having a never-ending choice of major theater productions was no problem, and I hadn’t yet been to the NC Stage. (Insert sound of palm slapping forehead here.)

You can’t get a bad seat in this small theater (perhaps 180 patrons). As opposed to some other area venues, the acoustics are quite good. Best of all, the actors are members of Actors Equity—not amateurs, and they are absolutely marvelous. We saw “Live from WVL Radio Theatre: It’s a Wonderful Life”; I expected a production that was a few steps higher than a high school play. After all, there were only four actors, and they each played myriad roles during the nearly two-hour performance. Each was highly talented, and I (and the rest of the audience) thought they were wonderful. There was a hearty standing ovation at the end of the show.

I urge you to get a ticket for an upcoming performance to experience the delight for yourself. As for me, I now plan to get season tickets for next year.

Bravo!
