I spent 3 hours today at the Arboretum. Very enjoyable, relaxing experience. No crowds. The facilities are very nice with generous parking, information desks, art gallery space for local/regional artist, restrooms, gift shop and even a simple but good cafe. Formal gardens and explanations of the gardens are great. The quilt garden and Bonsai gardens are especially impressive. In addition... More

Wow, this is a nice place. I can only imagine how awesome it is when full blooming. Nice trail to walk pet. Great Bonsai exhibit. Cost was $12 per car which is reasonable. Beautiful displays and planted beds, great gift shop.

I visited in early May with my wife and sister-in-law. My wife stayed around the central area and read a book while my sister-in-law and me went on a guided tour in the forest. The guide was very knowledgeable but encouraging of remarks by visitors and seemed to genuinely appreciate get some valuable feedback. The cafe facilities were very good... More

I would highly recommend a vist to anyone with a few hours of time on an Asheville area trip. The grounds were spectacular with species well labeled. Particularly great is the bonsai exhibit. Even though it was drizzling the day we were there, we had a great time.

Our family of 4 visited the Arboretum, just filling a little time before another activity and I so wish we had been able to spend more time. We had a day of amazing weather and the grounds were incredible! Leave plenty of time to just sit and enjoy the peacefulness.

This is a nice experience for 'City' folks. However if you live in the country, or even the suburbs there isn't much here that you wouldn't see in your backyard. The Pond was all dried up so we couldn't do anything there. In theory the backpacks for the kids is a good idea, but they grow tired of carrying it... More

What a neat place! They have a wonderful bonzai garden with numerous trees in it. They are adorable. With only the inexpensive cost of parking this is one of the cheapest things to do in the parkway.

Really enjoyed a couple hours here. Maps were helpful and there was a free cell phone tour option too. Plenty of people around but solo hiking still felt quiet and peaceful. Gardens are nice if you don't like hiking. Lots of signage for different types of plants and a nice gift shop.

Beautifully maintained, trails to walk on, bonsai garden, native plant section, gorgeous flowers. I go at least one a month to see what's blooming. Inspiring beauty! Rotating exhibits and classes. Love to walk the dog there! Buy an annual pass! It's totally worth it!!!!!
