Massive estate, good audio, crowded on a holiday weekend

Huge building. Lots of interesting rooms. Currently there is a display of costumes from movies that used the estate as a set. The audio is well done, works well, and contains a... read more

Far too many people in the house. It just wasn't an enjoyable experience being pushed and shoved around the rooms without being able to look properly. We queued for over 20 minutes for an ice cream. The shops were expensive and crowded. Even the grounds were heaving with people.

If you have never been to Europe to see castles, you would be impressed. It's interesting to see how the super rich lived. But, it is way too expensive for a house tour. $65 with advance purchase, $11.75 for audio tour, total of $81.30 and it's all over in a few hours. Please note that this is a for-profit enterprise,... Everyone should visit this monument to ingenuity and hard work that was achievable before the age of government intrusion with taxes and regulation. There are so many aspects to the estate. There is the mansion, the gardens, the farm, the architecture. It is all spectacular. One can easily understand how people came to work here and never left. You really... More

Absolutely amazing architecture! We spent about 5 hours between the home and gardens. Make sure you book the roof tour in advance since that typically sells out. We did the self guided tour and it worked out just fine.

Although most members of our group had toured the house on previous trips, this was the first time that any of us had booked any of the specialty tours. The rooftop tour provided amazing views and unique photo opportunities, but the most memorable moments were part of the Behind-the-Scenes Guided Upstairs-Downstairs Tour. Our tour guide, Ann, was excellent! She obviously... More

We've been here multiple times and we're always amazed at the size and quality of the estate. This is the first time we were able to take photos inside the home.....hard to photo the quality you'll see. We've always find new things to enjoy.....both in the house and on the grounds. Fun for all ages as even our grandkids enjoy... More

I took my wife for her 45th birthday celebration. I bought the tickets well in advance (discounted) and pre-scheduled our self guided tour of the estate. I had been to Biltmore in 2003 in the summer and was not aware of the gardens at that time. This time, I got to experience the beautiful gardens with my wife! It was... More

We weren't sure what to expect from the Biltmore and were slightly skeptical of the expensive ticket prices but we are SO glad we visited the Biltmore! We got there at 10am on Saturday morning of Memorial Dat weekend. We had purchased tickets on the phone the day before and our house tour was scheduled for noon. When you drive... More
