Wonderfully built traditional Buddhist Temple, a Peaceful, quiet place to meditate and view a very traditional Thai style Buddhist Temple and Wat. Please be respectful, the Monks still live here and maintain the Temple and grounds. Take shoes off before entering temple. Inside re beautiful paintings and statues of the Buddha. Sit and enjoy the quiet solitude.

I had a long birthday week and had just gotten back from a 7 day cruise on Saturday. I was kind of upset about some things that happened and needed to center myself. My best friend who still lives in Miami had told me about it and she took me to Wat Buddharangsi on the Sunday. It was such an oddity to see this wonderful little piece of heaven in the middle of what used to be a primarily agricultural area.
It was very peaceful and so pretty. Grounds were well kept and the statues were very pretty. The main temple was closed and I was unable to enter until someone went into a separate building and came back and opened the door. Not sure if they were just closed but I was able to enter and pray and when I exited they locked the door again. We sat around for a bit just listening tot he birds chirping and the breeze blowing. It was very relaxing and peaceful.

This is a Miami's hidden gem. Quiet and beautiful Buddhist temple surrounded by gardens. Very nice place to take pictures. Inside it’s so peaceful and relaxing. You will need to leave the shoes at the entrance. They open from 7am to 5 pm. They offer Saturdays and Sundays meditations in both English (Sundays, 3 pm to 5 pm) and Spanish (Saturdays, 3 pm to 5 pm). You can visit and talk with the monks during these hours. Keep in mind that you will have to dress appropriately and conservatively for the place: shorts, bermuda shorts, miniskirts, bare midriffs and tank tops are not considered proper attire by their standards. The entrance is free, you can leave food, money or any donation to monks if you like.

This peaceful Thai Buddhist temple is located amongst the avocado groves, mango plantations and tropical plant nurseries of the Redland, the agricultural area just south of the Greater Miami area.
I have visited with my partner who is Thai and our Thai friends on several occasions and have always found the monks to be quite welcoming. It's nice to walk the grounds and find a spot for some quiet meditation. One particularly nice time to visit is during Songkran, the Thai New Year when local Thais and others who enjoy Thai culture flock to the temple grounds for delicious Thai food and sweets, and the traditional blessings from the monks.
I have a personal connection to this temple because my partner's uncle who also happens to be my boss is the architect who collaborated on the temple's construction and is a constant supporter.
I would respectfully suggest that when visiting the temple you would offer a donation to the monks,if not cash then maybe a bag of fruit or sack of rice.... they will greatly appreciate it and true to Buddhist philosophy it will bring you wonderful karma!

We had such a great experience on our visit. We were asked to sit and join them for breakfast. The place was such a well kept, humble scene. We sat in for a morning prayer. A must see.

The Temple welcomes all peoples of every religion, not just Buddhist. Has meditations on Sundays and in Spanish on Saturdays. Everyday the local Thai, Lao, Cambodian, Chinese and other Asian nationalities, bring food to feed the Monks for lunch between 10:30am thru 1200pm, M-F. After lunch, the Monks pray and give blessings. Check out their website for any Festivals, which one can experience the Buddhist religion and culture.

Hello there Evelyn! Actually they never really close but I would advise going earlier than later so anytime between 8am and 5pm should be fine. By the way if you visit during Songkran ( the Thai New Year) there'll be food stalls and a ritual blessing by the monks so you might not want to miss that! Songkran is April 9th this year!
