This was our first visit to the area and we were amazed by how beautiful the scenery was. We have hiked Red River Gorge and the Gatlinburg area and this is just as nice sans the crowds. We did the Leatherwood Loop and the Bridge Trail one day and did not see a soul on either trail save at the... More

Because of the large size of this Park, there is so much to see and do! There could be a few more trail signs in some areas. You could hike forever..... and I almost did in an area with no trail markers. Beautiful any time of year!

We visited here this past weekend and fell in love with the beauty. We live by the Smoky Mountains and go just about every week but sometimes the crowds can be overwhelming on the trails, so we decided to venture out here for a day hike. We did the Twin Arch Loop and I am still in awe of everything... More

Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area is an amazing weekend destination! The hiking and views are terrific. We stayed in the campground for two nights and enjoyed hiking during the day. The campground was nice and camping sites were well maintained. We did wish there was more patrol is the area for noisy campers after quiet hours but... More

Used google and went to the park headquarters turned out the arches were another hour away. The ranger said it happens all the time people don't realize how far the arches are because they don't realize how big the park is.

We did the twins arches hike and it was amazing. The arches rival my experience at Natural Bridges NM in Utah but without any crowds. This is an easy hike that we were able to do in about 1 hour with a toddler in tow. You get to walk under and on top of these beautiful twins arches. The drive... More

Big South Fork is a great alternative to the nearby Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which tends to be crowded in some areas. While BSF lacks the soaring heights of the Smokies, it has a very unique landscape that is full of waterfalls, arches, steep cliffs and rocky gorges. There are tons of hiking opportunities in both Kentucky and Tennessee.... More

This was 1 of those road trips I will never forget. The beauty in this area is truly awe inspiring. The canyons are jaw dropping. A lot of the area is accessible for handicapped. There is a rim trail that is paved & wide. The viewing deck at the end has spectacular views. From this vantage point we saw eagles... More

Soo much to see! The Big South Fork NRRA is location in both KY and TN! We started off our much too short visit at Yahoo Falls in KY. Although Yahoo Falls was more like a trickle it was still a very awesome area to explore. The hike to the "Falls" is short with a short cut to the base... More

Reminded me of Zion but on the east coast! The views were incredible! Although it was fall we felt like we had the park to ourselves! Can't wait to return! Great camping at Bandy Creek. Everyone was very friendly
