I'll admit I was expecting a bit more after reading that this was the largest visitor center in the park and that it had a dinosaur fossil display. It is large, and has a very nice gift shop inside, and the rangers were extremely kind and helpful, but the dinosaur exhibit is a bit overstated. One of the fossils is... More

Panther Junction is the main visitor center (one of five) in the park. They have a gift shop, several displays and exhibits of the park, and of course the really helpful park rangers there to answer your questions and help you in planning your hikes and visit. There are bathrooms here, as well as a place to fill up your... More

This is a good visitor center to get an overview of the park. There is a large relief map to get a feel for the layout of the sights in the park. Also some good exhibits on animals native to the area. We really enjoyed the film that gives a good overview of the interaction of the desert, mountains, water,... More

This was certainly the best of the five Visitor Centers with a good video and helpful NPS Rangers and volunteers. The Wifi was great and we were able to walk the dog a bit along the roadway. This is a great place to start especially if you enter the park from Study Butte/Terlingua.

Panther junction visitor center is open year round and it is a good place to stop even if you are not detouring to visit any trails in the park. There are clean bathrooms, a post office and drinking water. The visitor center is not large, but it has interesting exhibits, a good selection of natural history books and souvenirs. Upon... More

As always need to stop for the stamp. But that's not all, make sure to take a look at the exhibit and talk to your friendly ranger for tips on where to go and what to see if you haven't done your research already.

This is the HQ of the park, so it has good toilets, wifi and info booklets to help you. The park ranger was also really friendly to give us the info we needed to plan our trip.

(Warning: Young adults from Central Florida visiting for the week) While it's not directly at the park's entrance- still a 30-minute drive in- this is probably the best of the park's visitor centers to begin at. We told the staff our length of stay and where we were staying and they immediately spit out suggestions for our limited time. OTHER... More
