Terlingua is a true gem. It is a ghost town that had it's heyday during the mercury mining era at the turn of the 20th century. It has been revived by artisans, old hippies and people enjoying a strongly community connected way of life in...More

The Ghost Town of Terlingua is not in Big Bend. There is a nice gift store to check out. The Starlight Theatre has good music. There are once-abandoned buildings made into people's homes.

This is a unique experience and you have to visit the town when in Big Bend National Park. It has a truly different grave yard on the edge of town. Old markers and recent offerings and unique tributes on the graves - both old and...More

We stopped by to check out the ghost town. The entire spot has a fantastic vibe. It has a trading company which has wonderful array of products from magnets to cowboy hats. It has an art gallery and the artist was very cool we bought...More

We went to Terlingua for a river rafting trip, and were told we simply HAD to visit the Terlingua Ghost Town. There's a pamphlet for a self-guided tour in the store there, which took us about 20 minutes to complete; somehow there just isn't enough...More

Terlingua is one of my favorite places to stay in Big Bend Country. I've been to this area three times, and I've stayed in Terlingua for at least two nights on each trip! It's a ghost town with few attractions, but it also has major...More

The cemetery was interesting. The ghost town had a self guided tour pamphlet in the souvenir store. Kind of underwhelming. It looks like a place people go to sit on the porch of the store and hang out. Store was huge and full of souvenirs...More

Great little gem with lots of character. Many ruins still in the area with locals living around them. The vibe is a very Spanish one and makes you feel as if you have left the country. Very peaceful and could easily spend an afternoon here...More

We used Terlingua as a base when visiting Big Bend. It's somewhere that's "a bit different" but in a good way! The main activity in the ghost town is centred around the Starlight Theatre ( good food and live music most nights) and bar and...More

This is a dusty old ghost town with relics of a time gone by. There are old miners homes and the main ghost town has a shop or two. It is fun and the locals can be a hoot. Do visit the Cemetary before leaving.
