The Los Alamos Historical Society preserves, promotes, and communicates the remarkable history and inspiring stories of Los Alamos and its people for our community, for the global audience, and for future generations. These stories are told in the multiple buildings of the Los Alamos History Museum through exhibits on the Ancestral Pueblo people, the homestead era, the Los Alamos Ranch School, the Manhattan Project, and the Cold War. The museum includes a gift shop and is open from 9-5 weekdays and 10-4 on weekends.

This is a more folksy operation than the Bradbury Science musuem. But it's right around the corner and tells a more intimate story of the daily life that has populated the Los Alamos area from the anasazi indians through the manhattan project.

While the Bradbury Museum covers the science this museum located in the former visitor's cabin centers on the creation, people, and life of the early town created to support the labs built here. The staff members were great, very knowledgeable with good senses of humor.

Buildings and museums are very interesting. $5 entrance fees. Lots of very interesting section on the ranch school and the Manhattan project. Nice walking outside if it’s a warm day.

Enjoyed the exhibits as well as the park. Learned the history of this unique city and the role it played in world history.

I have been to this museum twice and the second time I took my husband and family. It is a superb museum, with everything laid out beautifully. Most of all, the lives of people that picked in the museum have a way of reaching one....More

This museum was interesting and provided insight into the town of Los Alamos. The grounds are nice and staff are very pleasant.
