I just went to the La Sal mountains and Warner Lake today. It was great! There is construction going on but not for this part of the loop. There are spectacular views and it's a great cooler getaway from the hot desert. It was 75...More

This was a wonderful cool escape from the heat in Moab and the local parks, but we were a little disappointed that we were not able to complete the loop due to road construction about 13 miles into the trip. Check before you go to...More

Take a day and take the loop. Be sure to take the side roads and visit Warner Lake and Oohwa Lake. Pack a lunch and enjoy the cool mountain air and crystal clear waters nestled among the tall Aspen trees. Perfect.

Currently the road is closed a few miles past the north entrance, but if you follow the access road for several miles, you will still get a good view of the La Sal mountains.

While visiting the national parks in Moab, my husband and I wanted to drive up into the La Sal mountains. We drove about 15 scenic miles and then came to a detour - about 20 miles down a pretty rough dirt road! But it was...More

Good way to spend the afternoon to escape the heat . Cooler at high elevations. Make sure you visit some of the small lakes and some of the trails. Cool remote roads but check for any road work where you are driving.

We thought while driving the loop, there would be some areas to stop and take a walk. No, there isn't. We saw one trail down to a creek with a sign which stated that this was a tough one. Although the route is scenic, halfway...More

It's a beautiful drive with stunning scenery, but alas roadworks are being conducted till the end of 2017. In the weekends the road is open, but for a strech of a about six miles the road is horrible. We managed with our Nissan Maxima, but...More

We started on this scenic drive but turned back when we found out that the road ahead was closed. Although we had read that the drive is beautiful and that it could be completed in about three hours, we didn't want to deal with all...More

I am a little confused about the closure. Obviously during the construction, this is not a loop. I guess it is in an and back out the same way, Where is the best place to enter to get the most out of the available scenic... More

I agree, a couple of hours should suffice for the drive, but we took our time exploring some of the lakes and camp sites, so took a bit longer. We drove through Castle Valley on the way back to Moab which is very... More
