A must do while you're in Moab. Right next to the entrance to Arches. Drive up along the Colorado river for at least 20 miles. Very scenic. There's also a road the peals off toward Castle Valley, do this as well. You will enjoy.

Our trip did not include this until we came across it accidentally. What an incredible drive thru rock formations, along the Colorado river. There is a bike trail for part of this, Ranches with horses, and 2 resorts one of which has a winery. We...More

We were here on a Jeep excursion in May 2018. There are endless trails & so photo-worthy. There is also rafting, horseback riding, 4 wheeling, and good food. Or just relaxing is fine too! Great place for families, groups or couples. Close to Moab.

This is an unbelievable drive. There are several places to pull over and soak it all in. I have driven it twice and I still marvel at the formations.

We enjoyed an early morning walk on the trail that follows the Colorado River. While we saw more bicyclists than walkers, this trail was great for both. We enjoyed the beautiful canyon, trail and river. A nice way to spend a few hours.

Gorgeous drive but another victim of increasing tourism. Many of the great dirt/gravel turnouts are now paved; bicyclists are all over the place (and this is a narrow two-lane road with big rigs and other vehicles); and a paved bike path on the river side...More

The colorado riverway rund east from Moab or you can come from the east off of Interstate 70. You could do the drive as a day trip in about 3 hours from Moab to I-70 and then back to Moab. It is worth the time.

There are small campgrounds along the river, very bare bones, with pit toilets and I think a running water source. We stopped to use the toilet at one. As mentioned there are a couple really nice Dude Ranches up towards... More
