We had a great time with Chris and Jay on the Colorado. It was my kids first time river rafting and Chris made the experience fun and unforgettable. We saw a bald eagle and other animals, heard stories, and learned a lot about the area. What a great way to spend an afternoon in Moab! Thanks!

Our family kayaked with Wild West Adventures (WWA) during our spring break trip to Moab. Everyone at WWA was very helpful in assisting us with choosing the best trip for our family and making sure we had all the necessary gear to enjoy our time on the river. Our guide, Chris, was knowledgeable, encouraging and engaging. He was also flexible, giving us route options even after getting onto the river. I would definitely recommend WWA!

We had two great full day private tours. The first was at Arches and the second at Canyonlands. Jason was very knowledgeable and a very enthusiastic guide for both days. Our only really downside was that the lunch sandwiches were pretty paltry. We did ask for vegetarian and got minimal vegetables and one slice of cheese. Bring your own lunch! Also, one point of feedback is that each time we went on a walk/hike, it would've been helpful to specify the length and difficulty in order to decide whether to bring a full backpack or just some water. This is a minor point, but useful to know. Overall, we would totally do it again!!!!

My daughter and I signed up for a private hike to Delicate Arch. Jay was our guide and he did an outstanding job. Without him there, we would have missed a couple of worthwhile detours. It was also great having Jay as our personal photographer! We also had enough time to go to the Double Arch, and Jay helped my daughter climb up to a spot she would not have gone to on her own. We had a great afternoon and highly recommend Wild West Voyages.

We had the opportunity to join Wild West on two fantastic tours. First, we took the full-day Arches/Canyonlands Tour with Jason. This was the best way to see the parks. Jason picked us up from our hotel in town and took us through the parks - he tailored the stops to our interests and abilities. Jason was fantastic - he kept a running commentary going on about the geology, wildlife, and plants. Wild West provided a nice homemade picnic lunch and snacks - nicely set out on a tablecloth (a nice touch). Jason's timing was perfect and he gave us some nice advice about places to eat and things to do in town. In addition, we took a half-day river trip with Constance. Again, she was fantastic, friendly, and very knowledgeable. In addition to the geology, we saw lots of different plants and lots of different birds. We were also very impressed with Wild West as an organization, within hours of booking our trips, we were contacted by phone to discuss our preferences and expectations. They also provided lots of information about how to best be prepared for our trips. When we arrived at their base camp for the river trip - everyone was super friendly and helpful. You could tell they were seriously invested in making sure we had a good time. We did - Wild West is highly recommended!

My husband and I have never been to Arches before, so for our first trip to the Park, we hired a guide through Wild West Voyages. Our guide's name was Jake, and he proved to be the perfect match for us. We are active Seniors (ages 59 and 60), and Jake quickly assessed our abilities and took full advantage of them. Thanks to Jake, we walked/hiked ten miles in Arches and saw nearly everything the Park has to offer. Jake's enthusiasm for the Park and his knowledge of it and its attractions was incredible. He stopped to show us Petroglyphs on the way into the Park, and since we were on an All Day Tour, found a great spot for us all to lunch together. We couldn't have asked for a better guide for the Tour or for a better introduction to the Park. Wild West Voyages is a great company to work with, and Jake proved to be an exceptional guide. We highly recommend both!

We had a wonderful afternoon floating the river with Chris. He is an expert boater, knows a ton about the area, and went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a great time. The whole team at Wild West Voyages is awesome and their operation is top notch. We highly recommend them and look forward to visiting them again soon.

One thing I really enjoy about Chris is the extensive thought and preparation he puts into every trip. He creates special gadgets and packs extra goodies and items that he thinks might add to your enjoyment of the experience. That's a veteran guide in action! Thank you for your review of our whole operation; we are so glad to see our commitment has shown. Wishing you safe and surprising adventures around every turn! WWV

My wife and I took the Arches Three-Hour Sunset Tour with Wild West Voyages. We had been to Arches a few times before, but in late morning and early afternoon. We anticipated that seeing it in late afternoon until just after sunset would be a different experience, and it certainly was.
Shannon, our guide, drove us around in a minivan – a much more comfortable ride than our 4x4’s on some other tours of the parks! – and I believe we covered almost all of the southern part of the park. At the beginning the sun was still fairly high, much as on our prior visits, but gradually as it sank lower the shadows lengthened, and after a while we could tell the colors of the rocks were deepening. The sunlight acquired an orange quality that shifted over to red as sunset approached. The shadows brought out much more of the three-dimensional structure of the rock formations than would be apparent with sunlight coming from overhead, and they also made for some interesting vistas with the ground in shadow while the rocks (as well as the La Sal Mountains in the distance) were still catching sunlight. I’ve included a few photographs to illustrate some of these changes. The rocks are a vivid red in some of these, in contrast to the flat red one sees at midday. For a short time after sunset we could still see the rock formations, sometimes virtually in silhouette with the twilight sky behind, and sometimes almost blending in with the sky when it had gotten darker. (For those who, like me, grew up back in the day of cameras that used film, it can be a little surprising how well a modern digital camera can pull up an image in very low-light conditions, almost darkness.)
Now, we could have driven ourselves around and taken pictures, but it wouldn’t have worked out nearly so well. It’s much better to have someone drive who knows the park, not just to tell us where we are and what we’re seeing but especially to use that knowledge to take us where the best views are under the constantly-changing conditions. We couldn’t have begun to do that by ourselves. It’s also very convenient to have someone else driving so that one can jump out to take pictures when the opportunities present themselves. Shannon did an excellent job on both counts.
We were extremely fortunate to have Shannon as our guide. She was familiar with the park not only from driving around it but also from hiking and from climbing many of the rocks – we discovered early on that she’s a climber! She clearly loves the park and enjoys showing it to visitors. Her naturally outgoing, even bubbly, personality made the ride a lot of fun. When I mentioned that I was interested in seeing the dark night sky (Arches is recognized as a very dark site) later that night she gave me a tip on the best place to go, which I greatly appreciated.
Altogether this tour was a marvelous experience for us, and we strongly recommend it. Indeed, without it you haven’t fully seen Arches National Park. And if you can get Shannon as your guide, do.

Good gosh, your time and consideration (and poetry!) in writing your experience are so greatly appreciated. Shannon says she remembers your immense appreciation for the visual beauty of Arches National Park. Thank you for sharing it here! We hope to see you again and share these fantastic places.

Chris ("Crispy") gave us an excellent tour of Canyonlands!! He chose excellent walks based on our abilities and used the time perfectly. We booked a total of 3 excursus with Wild West and the process was simple, they supplied useful pre-excursion information and the guides were personable. This is a well run company with knowledgeable guides. And, if you are on the fence about whether to get a guide, I strongly encourage it. They know the best routes and the best view points, how to time the tours and you can relax knowing logistic are taken care of. Plus, they provide excellent historical perspective.

Our commitment is to share these amazing spaces with you in the way that works best for you, and give you enjoyment from start to finish. Your review helps reconfirm that our approach is paying off for our guests! We put the love into every trip because we just love what we do. We keep it small so we can keep the experience personal. In summary, Chris P and the rest of us thank you for a great day!
