If you have a tent camp at Redbud. If you have a camper, my suggestion is to choose Laurel Ridge. This is a nice park if you fish. If you like to walk trails check with the park before you go. The lake trail was...More

Holliday Lake State park was a nice weekend getaway and highly recommend it due to its convenient location to the McClean House (General Lee's surrender-Civil War). The campsites are large sites with plenty of trees around you to feel intimate and private. The down side...More

I've been here twice to go to the beach. It is well-maintained and enjoyable. It has a small water slide for small kids and diving areas in the deeper part of the lake. I know you can fish and rent boats and camp here as...More

First, let me say, one reviewer mentioned LakeHead Trail - he is entirely correct. I encountered much of the same. I needed to get a long run in. While I didn't have any expectations about it, I made it down to about 1.5 miles and...More

This is a very nice park with one serious problem. There is a shooting range beside the park that is very noisy and distracting. We came here for a peaceful camping trip, but the continuous noise from semiautomatic and apparently automatic weapons made the campground...More

If you are interested in hiking, don't bother with this park. The lakeshore trail (6.3 miles) was in terrible shape. It was poorly marked and at places there was no indication where the trail was. One of the bridges was out and one of the...More

No complaints but slightly isolated if you like to be near town & activities or places to eat. Vert Peaceful. Nice Staff. Edge of the Lake. Rules to comply with. Reminds you of an old fashioned camp back in the day!
