Great information about President Johnson. Park Ranger Chris did a great job of answering questions (and there were many, especially about chamber pots). I suggest you drive to the cemetery. Everything else is in walking distance.

The museum is not that bid but it's still worth a visit. Short film about Johnson and a few interesting exhibits. Plus it's free.

This is a marvelous house to visit as it is not only a shrine to a president but also contains about 85% of the original belongings which is rare. My tour guide was Chris Petruccelli and he does the NPS very proud. He is completely...More

We arrived late to this Site. The 'ranger' on duty was very helpful in telling us how to proceed with our late visit. The site is well documented and easy to negotiate. We missed the last tour. So, the guide played two movies for the...More

This park is a must see. I learned so much that we did not learn in school about Andrew Johnson. The park is very well maintained by knowledgable staff. It is a multi building site among a few blocks. They have the visitor center with...More

The park rangers where very friendly and informative. Highly recommend that all 3 historical sites be visited. The ranger at the home was good, however he needs to study his history a little more.

I would check out the visitor center. The exhibits are informative and Pres. Johnson's tailor shop is in there. Also, the view from Pres. Johnson's grave is worth the short drive over there.

The website mentions a Christmas closure, but I don't see a New Year's one mentioned. You might want to try calling them sometime this week or next so you don't drive over there just to be disappointed.
