We stopped at the Andrew Johnson site on Easter Sunday and were pleased with how informative it was! Our kids did the junior ranger program-booklets focus on the information in the visitor center and weren’t cumbersome to complete. We SO appreciated the park rangers we...More

Beautifully cared for home of little known President Andrew Johnson and his family both pre and post civil war. Greatly enjoyed the the tour by the National Park Service. I really like how the Park Service left a "window" to the past inside house allowing...More

This national park preserves the homes, business, and gravesite of America’s seventeenth president. The three sites are spread out over about a mile and a half of the downtown area of Greeneville. Parking is nearby the visitor center and tailor shop. The Homestead has limited...More

Nice looking house. Unfortunately closed sundays. Seen only the outside. In the back 50 meyers there is an old 200 years old house. During weekdays there is also a visitor center with souvenirs.

The National Park Service does an outstanding job of operating and maintaining the Andrew Johnson life story in this great facility. Utilizing a multi-media approach, they present the 17fh presidents story from the early years through the presidency, to his death. It’s interesting, historical and...More

The house was under renovation, so we could not see that. The visitor center provided a quick and worthwhile stop to learn more information.

I would check out the visitor center. The exhibits are informative and Pres. Johnson's tailor shop is in there. Also, the view from Pres. Johnson's grave is worth the short drive over there.

The website mentions a Christmas closure, but I don't see a New Year's one mentioned. You might want to try calling them sometime this week or next so you don't drive over there just to be disappointed.
