This place obviously plays an important role in Saipan's past. The views from up top are magnificent--especially on the road down when you get a fantastic view of the west coast of Saipan and the reef. Views of the cliff from below are impressive as...More

This is a location where hundreds of Japanese men, women, and children jumped to their deaths rather than surrender to American troops in World War 2. It is a great reminder of the cost of war. The descendants of these Japanese have erected monuments to...More

You get a great view from the lookout and a sobering glimpse of a lesser known part of WWII. The lookout looks over Bonzai cliff. I recommend seeing Bonzai first and then seeing Suicide cliff to see it from a different perspective

Here with a tour group. Very sacred environment. Hard to believe that mothers and their children jumped to their death from this cliff.

This is worth the car ride up to the top. Or, if you are crazy, cycle it! Tghe view is excellent and the little pieces of history come together even more once you have seen a number of places.

The drive up to the cliff is beautiful and when you get to the top of the cliff, there isn't much to see but you can view the edge of the island and its beautiful ocean. A good place to hike for few miles.

There are several places called suicide cliff. Some are just cliffs over land. The memorial over the water has spectacular views. Both are worth a visit.

Another legendary story - A must visit to Saipan's finest tourist spot. No admission just a old school way of a drive up visit. Be sure to visit Suicide Cliff.

After visiting the Saipan War museum, knowing more about what has happened on this spot. When you get there the way they let the tourist stand behind the barrier, you can imagine the last scene and the last moment of those victims went through before...More
