I took a nice walk along the Bay and took a photo of Cupid's Arrow. It is a 60 foot sculpture and was commissioned by the Gap.

We have driven by this sculpture many times while visiting the ball park or when traveling to the area around the Embarcadero (visiting Pier 39 or the Ferry Terminal).
The sculpture is a massive bow and arrow with the arrowhead pointing into the ground. I was unsure of he symbolism but learned from the website that it symbolized Eros shooting an arrow into the ground to make It fertile... should it have been named Eros’ Span instead?

This enormous bow and arrow structure is impressive. It is located at a short walking distance from the Ferry Terminal Building. Certainly worth visiting for taking some pics.

While walking along the waterfront near Embarcadero, I stumbled upon this tremendous bow and arrow sticking out of the earth. A small plaque identified this interesting work. Good for photo opportunities and as a meeting place/landmark.

As public pieces of art go, this isn't bad and a good backdrop for photos. We planned a walk down to the Embarcadero to see the Ferry Building and this is only 5-8 minutes further walk along the promenade, towards the Bay Bridge.

The seafront promenade is a pleasant walk but this area seems to have its fair share of undesirables. My friend had visited earlier the same day and she said a lady (who appeared to be on something) was making very loud, lewd comments to a nearby man and made no attempt to stop when my friend walked by with her young daughter.

So it’s a sculpture of sorts by the shoreline. Why you’d make any effort to go out of your way to see this is beyond me.
