We recently took a trip to France and Italy. We always take BART to SFO or OAKLAND airports. It is fast & efficient especially with bay area traffic. The best advice is to do a little home work and know the schedule. Also give yourself...More

Really think this is one of the better public transportation systems in the country. Easy access from SFO. Sometimes there is a line to get tickets, but it moves quickly. Usually pretty safe, though sometimes it is crowded. The stations are clean. Easily gets you...More

Taking the BART from the airport into central San Francisco was a poor experience. There were two massive queues for tickets at the airport - took easily 15 mins to get tickets. The machines are also the most user unfriendly things you’ll ever find. And...More

Every time to/from SFO experienced dirty trains, homeless in station and/or in train, the ticketing machines are literally from another generation and have the stupidest way of adding/subtracting fare to your card in possibly the entire world. Constant delays due to police activity. This was...More

Pros: Easy way to get to key areas dependant upon where you're staying (e.g., SFO, Downtown Oakland and SF). Cons: Sometimes I didn't feel safe; -- there were multiple homeless and panhandlers on the train and near the ticketing booth which makes you hesitant taking...More

We took the BART train from the airport to the city centre and back. Less than 10 Dollars each way and door to door, there is absolutely no need to take a taxi. Clear signposting in the airport and very clean and spacious trains, I...More

Took the BART from Oakland airport to the downtown of San Francisco. The transportation was fine, just be careful what stop you get off of, and what time you are using it. In addition going from the main line to the Oakland airport costs an...More

The BART was a good way to get around. It didn’t go everywhere you’d expect, but was convenient enough. Especially good that it can go further away, like Oakland.

The Clipper Card, in my Opinion, is the best, It is usable across many transit systems. You can get a card by applying online or at some retail outlets such as Walgreen's. There are discounted cards for Seniors & Disabled... More

You can get a ticket at the airport. It's feasible to take your suitcases. I'd have to look Stratford hotel up to see how close it is to the Union Station stop.
