The church is a must see if you are in area. The iconography, sculpture and architecture alone is enough to make it worth the visit however the space itself has a atmosphere truly befitting its grandeur. Spend some time enjoying the space and reflecting on...More

The parish church in North Beach. It's an historic landmark in this neighborhood and always catches one's eye.

This is such a beautiful church, often missed since it isn't close to many tourist attractions, but definitely worth a visit. It is located right in front of Washington Square in Little Italy, close to Coit Tower. It is beautifully designed and the inside is...More

This attractive white church towers over Washington Square park and Little Italy. It was used as the Cathedral in the film Sister Act. We would have liked to see inside but there was a service in progress. It is intricately designed.

Beautifully situated on San Francisco’s Washington Square. Possibly the darkest church I have ever been in. Open to visitors during the day. Not surprisingly, we found Mary (Pieta) inside.

Whilst walking around the North Beach (Little Italy) area we came across Saints Peter and Paul Church a Roman Catholic Church directly across from Washington Square. This 1924 Italian Gothic styled cathedral with twin spires is where Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe took wedding photos....More

The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds
of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian
ristorante come together to create the charming
neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping
grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of
North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always
suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in
the city exude as much European charm and style.
