...,but a bit third-world-like. The park is just beyond the dirt mound that used to be Candlestick Park stadium. The bay views from park are great. Parking is easy, and there are even picnic tables. They really need to repave the roads getting to and around the park areas. I have heard this referred to as California's 1st Urban State recreation area and in the next 3-4 years it will be one of only two camping locations inside the San Francisco City limits. Wonderful place for history. Usually on the cool side so dress with that in mind. We found taking our lunch and hanging out was the best.

Forget about the stadium, here you enjoy the outdoors without driving far. Trails abounds with some right by the bay. Watch people fish or do some birdwatching. Saw a family getting ready for reunion - it's first come reservation. Bring your group for BBQ or your partner for a romantic picnic.
