Love movies? Then this is the place to be. You really cannot visit San Fran without dropping by, lest you be a philistine. It shows wear and tear, and that's what makes it the Roxie. Also, their selection of old, out-of-the-way and Indie films is nothing short of awesome! It's like a VHS on the big screen. Can't be beat.

I went to see a documentary for SF Docfest, which I enjoyed, but I don't care for the theatre. It smelled like pee. It was very warm inside. We found one of their film festivals happening. It's a great old theatre, with a neighborhood you want to spend some time in

This is a wonderful hole in the wall theater. It is small, old, with a vintage feel. It caters to everyone but especially to the queer community. This theater shows hard to find films, vintage films, documentaries, and artistic/creative cinema works. The seats are worn but so COMFORTABLE.

This small theater, for film buffs, offers a wide-range of films. Everything from sci-fi to French Film Noir, Nippon Nights (Japanese Cinema) to Children's Films.

Staying in Mission District

Neighbourhood Profile
Mission District
From burritos to bicyclists, the Mission is the foundation for all things hip in the city. Cultural attractions, an independent arts community, sumptuous street murals and a high density of bars and cafes make this neighbourhood a magnet for young people. While terrific inexpensive food is abundant, its top-of-the-line restaurants now compete with the city’s best for fashionable diners. Indulge as the locals do by heading to Mission Dolores Park, buy some ice cream, and savor one of the most diverse neighbourhoods in the country.
