My husband and I rode the carousel while in golden gate park. It was a beautiful carousel and I thought it would be fun since it didn't have an age restriction and only two other people in line to ride the carousel. We enjoyed our ride and got to select any animal we wanted since the carousel was not busy.

It wasn't operating when we first arrived and the kids were disappointed. But fortunately it started up later in the after noon, and to the delight of my wallet it was only $2 for me and my grandkids who are under 6 were FREE! How awesome is that!

We always enjoy the beauty of an original carousel. This carousel is rich in history. $2 for adults. $1 for children. It's a bargain in the midst of San Francisco. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the playground. We sat on hippie hill and listened to drummers. Lots of small cigs changing hands there ;)

The carousel ride at this park is beautiful - and a great deal! I was able to ride with my daughter for two dollars ( young children ride for free if accompanied by a paying adult). The adjoining park was huge - two large playlets ( one for younger children, one for older ones), a rope climbing structure and tome of sand and other play equipment. If your children are older, consider bringing some cardboard so that they can slide down the huge concrete slides without wearing out the seat of their pants!

My son enjoyed his rise on this classic carrousel in Golden Gate Park. 2 bucks for an adult, he (2years old) for free.

Very cute attraction, and was a lot of fun. The park is beautiful, and it's strongly recommended for a family.

Fun carousel in Golden Gate park. Playground nearby that is great for picnicking, also. Safe and friendly environment.

All in one little clump lies a great playground, carousel and snack stand. The playground will keep a wide variety of ages busy (mine are aged 1-4 but many kids were much older) with everything from the best in playground equipment, to a giant sandbox (with a stream running thru - bring a change of clothes) to concrete slides to swingsets! The adjacent carousel is $1 per kid or $2 per adult - great deal! The snack shack has a little bit of everything. Clean, large restroom are only steps away near the Sharon center. Parking was not an issue as we got there early. At 9a we were basically first people there. By 11 it was packed! We will be back!

This is the classic old carousel you read about in books and see in movies. It reminded me a bit of the carousel on the Mall in DC that I rode as a child. Unfortunately I came upon the carousel either before it was open or it was closed due to the rain. However you can see the carousel through the huge windows that surround it. It has all the classic animals and is only $2 for adults and $1 for children.

This one is a must visit place each time we visit San Francisco. The best thing is that it’s rather inexpensive compared to all the other sights. Kids under 6y have to be accompanied by an adult but only the adult is paying then.
