Neighbourhood: Mission District
From burritos to bicyclists, the Mission is the foundation for all things hip in the city. Cultural attractions, an independent arts community, sumptuous street murals and a high density of bars and cafes make this neighbourhood a magnet for young people. While terrific inexpensive food is abundant, its top-of-the-line restaurants now compete with the city’s best for fashionable diners. Indulge as the locals do by heading to Mission Dolores Park, buy some ice cream, and savor one of the most diverse neighbourhoods in the country.

The interior was not open to visitors at the time I was there. There was a very nice security guard that filled me in on what was going on.

The bar kitty corner to the Armory building is a real fun bar. The beer on tap is only $5. The Arnory Club is really affordable in terms of drink prices. Cocktails are around $10. Other bars in the Mission are charging $7 minimum for beer and $12 minimum for cocktails. The music is cool. The staff is really friendly. A lot of open minded people hang out @ Armory Club

If you are in the neighborhood, it is worth a stroll by to check out the San Francisco Armory. The building was constructed in the early 1900s and designed with a castle-like appearance in a Moorish Revival style. Just the brick work alone is worth the side trip!

Nice open venue for events like my company’s concert of Weezer following Red Hat Summit 2018. It was loud, but that’s more a function of the number of people and the setting on the amplifiers. What particularly disturbed me, however, was the sticky wooden floors. I’m sure some of the thousands of attendees had spilled their drinks through the course of the evening, but these floors were stickier than ever. At times, I felt like a mouse in a glue trap. Come on, San Francisco Armory – do something about this problem!

I took a tour in the middle of June. Quinn was our tour guide and she was very professional, she made tour interesting and kindly answered all the questions the group asked.
I think the tour was handeld in a good way and you don't necessarily have to be into BDSM/porn to like the tour just go with an open mind.

The rudest guide I've ever seen. Freak control and impolite. Her beheviour Ruined the entire experience for the group. Her atitide was completely out of line.

Read up on the Armory Studios before you decide to come here. This is definitely not everybody's cup of tea.
We had a great guide who made the tour interesting, happy I came and checked it out!

I have been here a number of times, and it is kind of cool to see the "behind the scenes" dungeons and studios where some scenes are filmed for the fetish company. If you like old architecture, the building is also kind of cool to check out, assuming you can get into the areas where you can enjoy such things.

If you are in the area, and have nothing else to do, I would recommend it. However, it is nothing to go out of your way for unless you are into the fetish community per se.

The Armory tour offers little to the traveler who is not a fan of BDSM pornography.

San Francisco's other cultural sites are more rewarding so unless you have seen everything else the city has to offer, make The Armory a low priority.
