This little hill below twin peaks is a local treasure a quick walk up some steps off twin peaks blvd and you will see an old gun turret left over from World War Two ,it is just a large circle on the top of tank hill, its name suggests the governments use for long distance guns face in general the pacific... We visited on VERY windy day & felt like we might get blown off the hill! Like other reviewers mention, we only saw 3 other people on the day of our visit. It is a short but VERY steep climb up and down from Belgrade Ave. There's a bench, there's rocks to sit on, and not much else. Besides the... More

I love this place. Still nearly unknown to non-locals; that won't last long with social media, will it? Great views of San Francisco from Tank Hill. Never crowded (yet) and super peaceful.

Good view, stunning really, but honestly this is just a pit stop on the way to twin peaks, so if you're heading up there, stop off here for a view without a crowd.

I have gone up to Tank Hill many times, and always bring out-of-town visitors here. I believe it has the best view over San Francisco in the City, better than all of the other more famous and well-visited viewpoints. The view from Corona Heights, while very nice, is just basically of downtown down over Market Street. The same for Twin... More

The hill itself is an ugly scar. But you don’t go to Tank Hill to look at the hill. You go to see the beautiful vistas from Tank Hill. Sure, Twin Peaks has a 360 degree view while Tank Hill is more like 220 degrees. But there’s no crowds at Tank Hill while Twin Peaks will have a car queue... More

Set in a residential non-touristy neighborhood, you get views of the Pacific, The Golden Gate, Downtown and the East Bay. Stop by Cole Valley fir a bite to eat after devouring the view,

With NO tourists. I'm amazed to find this location here on Tripadvisor. I found this on a hiking map of many of San Fran's hills. When I arrived, I was lost as I couldn't figure out where to go (seriously). I asked a local who laughed and said, "see those stairs across the street? That's it". Amazingly I was 20... More
