Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.

This area is also known as "East Beach" by locals. It was an excellent place to watch the air show, including the Blue Angels during Fleet Week. I looked into buying tickets for the air show in the viewing area at Marina Green. But they were $125 each! That's crazy. The east side of the beach, between the yacht club and GG Bridge was perfect and free! We had a great view of the show and there was plenty of space for everyone. There were lots of people but plenty of room to spread out.

This is a fantastic promenade that provides amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge.
You can easily take a 2-hour stroll along this promenade and reach the area just under the bridge itself.

Great spot for photgraphs of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay. Easy parking but better to take a tour as they get you to spots cars are not allowed.

We walked the promenade from the Presidio Disney Museum to the golden gate bridge. The walk is flattish and the views were grand. It was a good time.

lovely breezes and wonderful views. the only down side was the traffic and too many people! but that is the price you have to pay for a great pit stop with photo ops galore!

Golden Gate Promenade / Bay trail runs under the Golden Gate Bridge. Pedestrians and cyclist use the runway which is about 7 Kms.

one of my bucket list dreams was to cross the Golden gate and we did it! from the promenade takes around 1.5 taking time for pictures and view, but i must warn you at the end of the bridge theres nothing but restrooms!! so think twice!! was so complicated to get a taxi because also visitors point view entrance was closed!!!

We walk to the other side of the bridge. It was nice experience. We got to see some dolphins in the water.

Flying in to SFO on March 31 arriving at 11:40am in terminal 1. We will be using public transportation to get to your motel, Coventry Motor Inn. Can you help us step by step with the trains or buses we should take. We will each have 1 22 inch suitcase.

There are a couple of parking lots in different areas along the bay, but I know for sure there is one where the parking is free. It isn't very big, so it fills up quickly, but it is free. It is right by Crissy Field and the beach just down from Fort Point. Once you park, there are so many things right there you could just walk to.
