A must-see neighbourhood for most music fans, it’s easy to see why these streets attracted the likes of the Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin. You’ll likely be content in The Haight day or night, just be sure to wear some flowers in your hair.

House is nothing special but it is in ground zero area for the hippie culture music movement.

We returned to explore and see the legendary house of musician Jimi Hendrix. I like the red color of this house It is on Haight Street.

It was fun to see Jimi Hendrix house which is in the Haight Ashbury area of San Francisco. Jimi Hendrix was a legendary musicican. The house recently got a new red paint job. There is a store on the first floor.

For those that love the music legend no doubt the house in Haight Street would be something of a pilgrimage. To me it was an interesting property with an historical significance, adding to the eclectic mix of buildings and people that make up the area. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit along the street.

Right in the heart of Haight, this unpretentious dwelling speaks of the simple roots of 60's rock. The lower floor front was his apartment. 'So if your going to San Francisco ...' why not wander down Haight and salute one of the rock gods of 60's USA. The story goes that he didn't really like the district ... it was too busy.

An important stop on our Hendrix pilgrimage to San Fran. Soak up the sounds, sights & smells(!) of Haight Ashbury - wonderfully colourful and eclectic.

Jimi Hendrix had an apartment in the ‘Red House’ just around the corner from where Janis Joplin lived in Lyon Street. Coincidentally that both died at age 27 16 days apart
