Meet at the Oxbow Public Market and the fun begins! Wonderful way to celebrate a birthday or any special occasion. The food is delicious and filling. Great variety. Our friendly tour guide, Mary, gave a lot of interesting facts and history about Napa. Her passion and love for this city was evident and she made us all feel welcome and... More

A highlight of our SF trip! Sure to recommend to friends & come back! We found this gem of a tour the night before and booked online - it was easy and the confirmation was immediate. Ahmet was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about food. Not only did he know the areas restaurants, but he also knew a lot of history... More

We had a great tour of the NoPa neighborhood with Casey. The food and people were wonderful. No need for dinner after this tour. Everything was delicious. They were also very accommodating of our gluten sensitivity.

Took my foodie mom (and dad, and brother) on one of these tours on Mother's Day (rather than the standard going-out-to-brunch thing). Our guide Nicole was great - very knowledgeable (about food, various SF trivia, etc.) - and we really enjoyed it! Probably not something for little kids.

Shane is an excellent tour guide with a seemingly unlimited amount of knowledge about the neighborhoods, food and restaurants in and around Fillmore Street. She took us to seven different places for tasty bites of food like bagels and cream cheese, banh mi, tea, chicken wings, ice cream, coffee and more. It was a great introduction to the area and... My husband, son & I were very lucky to have a private tour of Russian Hill with guide Marie. We started at an easy-to-miss Macondray Lane, a pedestrian walk-way straight out of fairy tales! Marie showed us sights and gave interesting history and that's even before the wonderful food stops. The web site describes the seven food vendors so you... More

Gourmet Walks never disappoints. I've been on their chocolate tour and now the Russian Hill food tour. Russian Hill was just two days ago, and I think it might be overlooked in their selections! Take it! The guide was informative, and as a local I knew her historic details were correct. This tour did not concentrate on basic San Francisco... More

My friend and I ended up with the privilege of getting a private tour, and Shane made the most of the experience by personalizing it! It definitely added another dimension to a walking tour, and I can honestly say I loved every bit of it. Each bite was full of flavor, and I could taste the love put into creating... More

My husband and had a thoroughly enjoyable tour of Hayes Valley, an area we've eaten at many times before, but now we know the history and have new gems to try on our next visit. Nichole made the neighborhood come alive with her vast knowledge and unbridled enthusiasm. I was very happy with the quantity of food we were served... More

Seven of us went on the tour and had a wonderful time. Our tour guide shared the history of the area that I would have never known strolling around on my own. The food was wonderful and plentiful. I highly recommend Gourmet Walks for teens and up. Don't miss the Hayes Valley tour.

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
