I always love to gaze at this attractive building at the entrance to Golden Gate Park. You see it when you drive in on your way to the Sunset. It's historic.

It's your greeting when you enter Golden Gate Park, especially from Oak and Fell Streets and the Panhandle. Old fashioned park HQ building, it looks good and is a classic.

One spots this handsome building at the entrance to Golden Gate Park, and this is how we experienced it on our drive out to the Sunset. Old and good looking.

We went to see the historic McLaren Lodge, which is on the eastern edge of Golden Gate Park. It was built in 1896 and was the home of John McLaren, the Park Superintendent and Care Taker of Golden Gate Par from 1887 to 1943.

The architecture is Moorish-Gothic. It is the administrative quarters today of the park.

In December, there is an annual Christmas tree lighting.
