Our San Francisco friend explained the the DiMaggio family donated this nice sized piece of property to the city. The agreement was that it would remain a park and it would always have base path lines painted on it, so kids playing baseball would live in the Bay Area. The day we were there it was quiet, but were told that it’s always busy on the weekends. Cool spot and story!

We spent a few hours at the North Beach Pool and we didn't regret it. The swimming pool is hidden in the Di Maggio playground.
The two very cool lifeguards were great, friendly and funny.
This refreshed us well and gave us an experience of local activity without any tourists with us and at the crossroads of Columbus and Lombard street...

We are from NZ and have some pretty good playgrounds but this one was really fun for kids to burn off some energy despite being too old for some of the equipment - lovely clean and next to a big set of courts

We'd marched our kids through a series of museums, and they needed a chance to get their ya-yas out. This playground has beautiful landscaping, space to run around, and some cool equipment, including a dual swing. Picnic tables for parents to chill at, and the surrounding area is cool to check out.
