An average Zoo but nice place to visit with kids if you are around. Sometimes it is cheaper to buy tickets via internet and you will avoid lines too.

This is a very well put together zoo and handy to get to from the city centre. We got a train that turned into a tram from Powell street that got us straight to the entrance(think it was L train)

I went by myself to the zoo hoping to spend couple of hours of fun, in the end I spent way more walking around. The environments are pretty clean and tidy and the animals look very healthy. Easy to walk around and navigate, a must...More

Recently took our grand kids here for a Sunday visit after not visiting for several years. They have done some really amazing settings for the animals. Order tickets online to save time. We paid to park which is close to entrance - otherwise park free...More

For SF being all righteous about so many things, they are certainly lacking with their zoo. Wolves in cages. Poor habitats. Depressing. If they can't have good homes for animals they need to find them one somewhere else.

As a huge animal lover, I’ve been to tons of different zoos. This one is a bit small but very nice and well set up. A little pricey. Seems to need some renovations to stay up to date.

Truly lovely zoo. Many animals all in appropriate enclosures. The lemur exhibit was especially amazing with so many trees and activities for the lemurs who were definitely enjoying their space. We went for a look at the Snow Leopard Cubs which were out and frolicking...More

We spent 3 hours here but it could have been more if the building work and renovations that were on going had been completed. It did mean that there were fairly long stretches where we would not see any animals. That said some of the...More

Flat which makes walking easy. It’s right next to the great hey so the beach is walking distance away, Also Golden gate park is near by and make sure you visit the Cliff house for lunch, dinner or snack. Great view. Have fun
