At the northwestern corner of San Francisco, there is a series of stunning views at every turn in this wild and windy trail. Hillsides of cypress and wildflowers, views of shipwrecks and access to the ruins of Sutro baths, a San Francisco specials memory.

Perfect area for hiking and taking long scenic walks with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean. We always recommend a Land's End hike to out of town visitors. This area is accessible by the public transport Muni bus. Visitors can pair a Land's End hike with a visit to the nearby Legion of Honour museum.

Walk along the well maintained park and imagine when the Spanish settlers came ashore in 1776. As the Pacific Ocean breaks on the rocks below, imagine all the boats lost since then. Finally, imagine all the commerce moving past you into San Francisco Bay, both in and out.

Lands End shouldn't be missed. Go to the Cliff House for great food or just coffee and look at the amazing rock formations on the shore as the tides rush in. From there, it's a 10 minute walk down to the Sutro Baths, then up the stairs to the trails and views at Lands End. Amazing views (rocks, cliffs, Marin... More

We ended up doing both of them and I'm glad we did. Lands end offered us a view of the bay, water and nature. This can all be seen after a pleasant walk through nature. The labyrinth is a weird/nice thing to see and take pictures of.

In the area of Lands End are located the Sutro Baths, that were opened to the public On March 14, 1896. They were the world's largest indoor swimming pool establishment, built by a wealthy entrepreneur and former mayor of San Francisco (1894–1896) Adolph Sutro. They were destroyed by fire in 1966.

Excellent view of the Golden Gate and some nice walking paths. Some spots can be a bit steep so stick to higher ground if out of shape. Relaxing feel on the outskirts of the city.

I have been to Lands End many times. It is peaceful and provides a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge from the side most people don't see (the ocean side).

I wish we'd planned much more time here. Gorgeous, sweeping ocean views. Walk out to the labyrinth, over to the Sutro Baths, great break from the hustle of the city and gives you a totally different perspective and vibe.

A friend with a car drove us here during our trip and we were so lucky to have this experience. This takes in the extraodinary Pacific vista from the opposite side of the Golden Gate bridge. You could be in Scotland or New Zealand as the waves roll in with a lush backdrop of hills. We climbed down to the... More
