Situated in Nob Hill, an old and charming area of the city, the Episcopal Grace Cathedral occupies a prime position. The first thing that stuck us was the copy of the Ghiberti Doors from the Florence Baptistry on the front entrance doors. The Cathedral has...More

Nice cathedral with a lot of history. Needs some renovations. A little quirkier than most cathedrals.

We enjoyed the Good Friday service and were made to feel welcome in the quiet atmosphere. The singing and chanting were musical and soothing. Quite a climb to get there but and easy walk or cable car home.

The Grace Cathedral is well worth a visit if you climb up Nob Hill or get the cable car up. Fairmont Hotel has a cool bar too to quench your thirst after your visit!

We really enjoyed this spectacular church with all the art on the walls. Also, right across the street is a very nice park with several fountains and the day we were there, the park was crowded. It was definitely where the neighborhood congregated.

The church is beautiful, the stained glass and murals are quite extensive. We had the wonderful luck to be there when one of the 3 organs was being played, and the sound is simply uplifting and wonderful. The carillon played extensively one night, that was...More

Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the
city and is home to amazing architecture and views.
The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for
those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be
rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful
architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated
with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all
were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that
