We stayed close to the Wharf which made it a trek to see some of the other areas like the Ferry Building, this fixed the situation and was like riding the cable car but MUCH cheaper. Download the MUNI APP and sign up for the...More

some of us grew up with the PCC's. SF Muni did a wonderful task, to restore cars from all around the US for use on the Market St and Embarcadero lines.

The streetcars are beautifully maintained and come from around the world. Very practical and reasonably priced, use them to get around when the cable car lines are just that little bit too long.

We rode these to Fisherman's Wharf from our hotel...it was cheap, and easy. Not really a line to get on versus the cable cars!

We caught the streetcar from Fisherman's Wharf to our hotel at the junction of 8th and Market. When I asked the driver the cost he asked me if I was over 65 and because we were the cost was $2.75 for both of us. Great...More

The street cars run all along the embarcadero adjacent to the waterfront in San Francisco. Sometimes they're empty, sometimes packed, but either way they're an interesting and historic form of transportation that should be tried once! We bought the $5 daily transportation pass via the...More

A great way to see the city while actually going somewhere. Clean, on time, and pretty quick going from one end of the city to the other.

Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the
city and is home to amazing architecture and views.
The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for
those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be
rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful
architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated
with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all
were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that

Greetings Mel A, The Street Cars are completely different from the Cable Cars and MUNI buses. Street cars will share routes with the buses but not at all with the Cable Cars. If you google San Francisco's Historic Rail Lines... More
