When you are on foot downtown San Francisco, this is a treasure. Shady seats, sunny seats, or pull up a piece of grass if you have your blanket in your purse. I spent an hour or so strolling around. There was a stage area being set up while I was there; would be worth strolling through again.

We went here as part of fleet week as a brass band was playing. Lovely open green space. Plenty of benches, nice water feature. The band played on the band stand which was central

We were walking around Market & Mission and wanted to relax for a bit so we stopped at Yerba Buena Gardens. Beautiful green oasis in the middle of craziness. Highly recommend!

We had been walking round SF, were tired as it was a warm late April day, when we came across this lovely small park. It's perfect for relaxing and easy to forget you're in the middle of a large city.
Take a tip from us and seek out this beautiful park and relax...............

We only happened upon Yerba Buena Gardens when looking for a place to eat lunch after our trip to the SFMoMA. Little did we know that there would be a wonderful band playing there that sunny afternoon and that we would get to enjoy live music while eating sushi at a nearby restaurant. After lunch, we even got a chance to dance in a conga line and do the limbo with the band! YBG is a beautiful space and well worth a stop on your trip to San Francisco.

I loved coming to this garden, a gorgeously verdant rest in the middle of a large urban area. You can hang out and relax, people watch, or walk around and enjoy the scenery. There are museums bordering the gardens as well.

I like seeing parks like this in the middle of mega metro areas. It was nice for a stroll. It’s across from MOMA and The Mosconi Center. I went around 5 pm and it was really busy. Most park benches were occupied and a lot of people were lying around on the grass. Sadly a lot of them seemed to be homeless.
The water features were really nice. There are a lot of places to take nice pictures with interesting backgrounds.

If you need a place to relax and take a breath on your lunch hour or entertain your kids, Yerba Buena Gardens is a wonderful spot in Downtown SF to do so. There are rolling slopes of grass, benches to chat on, a wonderful Carousel and a food court with plenty of tasty choices in case you don’t want to brown bag it. There is also Samovar, a marvelous tea shop & a theatre.

There’s a butterfly garden, & dragonflies are frequenters to this park. Free live music plays in the bandstand several times a week, from May to October. Check the calendar at ybgfestival.org
The rushing waterfall (which you can walk behind!) drowns out city traffic noise. Cross the pedestrian bridge to the children’s park. Across the street is the newly enlarged MoMA. A pleasant place to rest & refresh, in the gorgeous City By The Bay.
