We were fortunate enough to see the bridge in good weather, and it was a wonderful sight to see, so try and visit when the sky is clear. By the time we came back over the bridge after visiting Sausalito, we could no longer see...More

Great walk if you have time to do the entire bridge; worth every step. When i got to the vista point I took time to go down the stairs to have a closer look to the bottom of the bridge.

Just because it’s the Golden Gate Bridge, it’s a must do. Whether to see it from a distance or up close and personal, it’s something you should at least consider. My wife and I walked across the bridge and took pictures from the Vista Point....More

The bridge itself is not that long (about 1 mike across) as compared to other bridges in the bay are, but the design was we executed. We had fog during our visit which obscured the view. We traveled across the bridge and back across when...More

Bring a sweatshirt or jacket. I know it is summer. Can be cold and windy especially in the mornings and afternoons. Park as far away as you feel comfortable walking or biking. You should know that it will be uphill to the bridge from Crissy...More

Apparently this bridge has enough cable to wrap 3 times round the world! Best seen by boat and spanning 1.7 miles over the bay. Other than that it is basically a big red bridge... but you have to see it if you are in the...More

For us it was one of the highlights of the visit to the city. Cycling over the bridge was just amazing, the size and construction feat is incredible. Get the ferry back from Sausalito adds to the enjoyment of the day.

Having rented basically free bikes near Fisherman’s Wharf, we were thrilled to be able to cycle along the beach towards Crissy Field, towards the Battery below the south end of the bridge and had lunch at the appropriately named Warming Hut, before starting the ascent...More

Bussed over on the hop on/off bus, and boated under, and survived the bike ride across even with vertigo. A huge gust of wind just after the first column once on the bridge. Put on your windbreaker before turning the last corner. Nice lunch at...More

If you download the Muni app you can see the routes that go there. We were also in Union square and there was a bus directly from near there to the bridge. We also got the Visitor Pass and travelled on cable cars and buses... More
