As you marvel at the intricate design, architechture and lanscaping you'll know why it is called so. You will probably strain your neck looking at the ceiling and appreciate the ornate design before you. A must see for travellers and tourists!

The Palace of Fine Arts is a beautiful stop in San Francisco. It is definitely best to visit on a dry/sunny day. The gardens surrounding the palace are pretty and nice to walk around. The architecture is gorgeous.

There wasn't much on when I visited, but this place is just beautiful to walk around the gardens and see some of the architecture. I highly recommend popping past if you want to find a nice relaxing area to visit.

Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful
backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to
the Marina. Originally the location for the
Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose
remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much
of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a
world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a
jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city.
