The National Parks Service has great exhibits of maritime history. We paid $10 and saw 3 ships - which were fantastic. Well worth a morning's visit.

This was small and not nearly the museum we expected for the area. It is a good little museum, but won't take you much time at all to compete.

I stopped in while the Mrs. was out shopping at other locations. I enjoyed looking over the masted ships as well as the other nautical machinery. I live in the midwest so the water themed tools and transportation were fascinating.

Came out here to get a few photos of the bay, and it offers some great views of alcatraz. You can grab a treat in ghirardelli square walk down and enjoy the views of the bay.

Operated by the park service, this museum includes the USS Pampanito submarine tour a few piers down as well. Join the Historical Association and you may even save money on admission - a win-win worth checking out...
