- Shannon H2 contributionsAmazing viewsBest way to go to the top of Cadillac Mountain from the cruise ship! Hop off the ship and catch the shuttle and BEAT the CROWDS! 20.00 bucks round trip and don’t forget your park pass. If you are a senior you can get a lifetime pass at any national park, or buy a day pass online at Acadia park.gov. The shuttle is first come first served. Plus she is a fountain of information!Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 8 October 2023
- pokuneffNashville, Tennessee277 contributionsA fabulous shuttle serviceWow did we stumble upon a gem. Disembarking a cruise ship we did not want to take any of their tours/excursions so opted for a walk/hike through town hoping to head up to the mountains. We encountered another couple looking for the same thing. Well, thankfully we saw the gorgeous new van driving by, so a phone call was made.... information exchanged.... and we got the layout of the land on how the service worked. And, flexibility is all about it . We were able to get up to Acadia National Park in the comforts of a gorgeous 2023 new van by the informative owner. $10 pp each way. We were hoping to hike down, however, the rains the previous days did not warrant a safe hike, so we me her in the designated spot and have a ride on down the mountain. What an amazing serivce and can not highly recommend her more.Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 9 October 2023
- Shana S1 contributionSpecial Find in Bar HarborWhat a special find in Bar Harbor! Skip the crowds of a tour bus or trolley and ride on “Bessie” up to the Summit of Cadillac Mountain! Easy to find, awesome tour guide, and simple process! Our tour guide was amazing—so sweet, kind, and knowledgeable! We left on the hour from the sprinter departure area (near the Sunoco gas station) and had an hour to spend at the summit before she returned for us. This was the perfect amount of time to see the spectacular views of Cadillac Mountain! Would 100% recommend this sprinter ride!Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 14 October 2023
- Alissa D1 contributionA godsendMy mother and I have not been back to Maine or Acadia in six years. This year we made a trip back, especially to Cadillac Mountain, as it is the last family picture we took before my dad passed. We did not know they now require reservations to the mountain, and there were no openings during our visit. Desperate to return to the place where we last stood as a family, we started looking for alternatives and found Cadillac Mountain Summit Shuttle. She was a godsend. Very friendly, prompt, reasonably priced, and full of information of the mountain. Because of her we were able to achieve my mother's and I goal. Please consider her when you wish to visit Cadillac Mountain. Not only will you learn a great deal but it gives others a chance to enjoy the mountain as well.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 14 October 2023
- Kristyn L2 contributionsLucky to have shuttle service in the rain!My partner and I hiked Cadillac Mountain on a rainy day that turned into an even more rainy day by the time we reached the summit. As we got ready to start the hike down, we realized it would be too dark to make our way back on the trail. Luckily, the lovely lady in the gift shop gave us Ellen's card for the Cadillac Mountain Summit Shuttle. Ellen made a trip up the mountain just to pick us up and brought us safely back down through the dark and the dense fog. We were very lucky to have this service available, and Ellen was an absolute sweetheart.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 29 December 2023
- Chandler M1 contributionAmazing Shuttle with an Even Better OwnerEllen with the Cadillac Mountain Summit Shuttle is nothing short of AMAZING! This shuttle service is not only useful and convenient for travelers looking to catch the sunrise or sunset, but the passion Ellen has for the park, city, and travelers is evident. I highly recommend anyone visiting the mountain no matter what time of day use Ellen and her services.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 June 2024
- BVK1978Kentwood, Michigan27 contributionsExcellent Service! This shuttle service was perfect. Our goal was to get sunrise timed entry passes, but we kept striking out and this was an exceptional alternative. This is a privately owned shuttle owned and operated by a local who has lived here for 35+ years. She was incredibly professional and the passion she has for the area was so evident. The shuttle is brand new and very clean. Very well run service! I might be concerned in the peak months about the “first come, first served” seat situation, but it wasn’t a concern in mid June. No regrets! Would do it again or recommend to others in a heartbeat. 🌄Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 11 June 2024
- DickTPATampa, Florida26 contributionsA "must do" if you go to Acadia NPDefinitely a "must do" if you go to Acadia. Make your drive reservations with the NPS early so that you don't miss out. Probably the best views in the park and you can see 360 degrees. Definitely go if you are going to Acadia or Bar Harbor.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 27 June 2024
- Jason P2 contributionsBest way to drive up Cadillac MtnGreat service and a great host in Ellen. She met us in the visitor center lot at around 4am. We had our park entry pass and that’s all we needed as she drove us through the park gate in her plush Mercedes van. She gave us a quick history lesson as we drove up. When we got there to a full parking lot, I was glad we’d had her drive! Great experience - highly recommended!Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 9 July 2024
- Abigail C1 contributionGreat service and reasonable rates!!!I wish more people knew about this shuttle service. My family and I hiked up Cadillac Mountain but myself and my youngest were too exhausted to make the journey back down. She was so friendly and helpful and gave a bit of a history lesson as we drove back down the mountain. The van was clean and air conditioned!!!! We were dropped off at the Visitor's Center, but she even went out of her way to drop some young adults off at their cars rather than making them walk from a designated parking spot. Very accommodating and reasonable rates. I highly recommend!Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 13 July 2024

My friends and I decided to ride the shuttle up to the top of Cadillac for sunrise in lieu of the 2 hour hike in the dark. It was $20 for a 2-way ticket which was well worth it for the view. Our driver also acted as a tour guide, providing a brief history of Mount Desert Island. If you want to catch the sunrise, I would suggest riding the 4am trip. We showed up to the pick up location at 3:45am and were some of the last ones on the shuttle, so maybe 3:30 is the time to shoot for. Make sure that you have your park entrance pass (we used our car pass for the 4 of us) with you when you board the shuttle as the park employees will check passes at the bottom of the mountain. Dress warmly. even though it was warm at sea level, the winds on the top of the mountain can get somewhat severe and are pretty chilling.

WARNING ⚠️ when it says you don't need a reservation make sure to make one anyway. The website said first come first serve and so did their automated phone system. We got there and waited half an hour so we could get on the shuttle. The bus was late and so after waiting half an hour at 3 in the morning we were told we needed a reservation even though the website and phone said differently. This was a terrible experience and would not recommend this to anyone.

What a great way to get up to the top of Cadillac Mt to watch the sunrise! Our driver was friendly and knowledgeable, and the shuttle is nice! We arrived around 3:30am to make sure we had a spot on the shuttle, since there are no reservations. The shuttle runs every hour. After a beautiful sunrise, we hiked down the mountain, but there is also return shuttle service available. Highly recommend!

This shuttle service was a blessing since we couldn't get a car reservation. We arrived to shuttle pickup at 3:30am and were first on the shuttle, got to Cadillac mountain summit as one of the first and thus able to choose where to sit. Plenty of time to hit restrooms and coffee before settling in to see sunrise. We only paid for one way and hiked down South Ridge after sunrise. Definitely recommend this service and appreciated Helen's friendliness and informational explanation of the mountain history.

So relieved that this shuttle has started. Great service and strongly recommend them. We hiked the Cadillac mountain on a foggy day. It was forecasted to rain later in the day but the hike to the summit took longer than expected. Without this service, we could have been forced to climb down on a slippery trail. Thank you for the service !!!!

We hiked up Cadillac mountain. Harder than we expected and are not experienced hikers. The summit was cold and foggy and the hike down seemed like it would difficult. Summit shuttle saved the day for us. Excellent service safe and easy way down. Thank you for getting us down in style. 10 bucks per person cash or electronic payment.
